I think there's a big answer there about where some retention issues...

...have come from. If there is actually a retention problem and what about those things are fixable. I would expect Pedulla heads much closer to home if he is in fact leaving VT. That has been the rumor. One thing that has changed under Mike Young that wasn't true under Buzz is that he has made next to no effort to actually recruit the state of Virginia itself and in some cases where VT has and gotten some traction they have really really dropped the ball - cancelling Malique Brown's visit to keep him from committing is one of the worst recruiting decisions a VT coach has made in my lifetime - and that doesn't just keep VT from taking kids who may be less likely to portal but it really hurts this time of year when kids who played HS basketball in VA or have VA roots are making transfer decisions. I think the shift to focusing on DC and Charlotte with so much force has really bitten VT and rubbed a lot of allies they could have the wrong way.
