The Hokies had gone 16-16 the season before, in Mike Young’s first season as their coach, and Young was bringing in new players to try to improve his team. “He sat me down and was very honest with me,” Bamisile said. “He said, ‘If you want to play a lot next year, you need to go into the transfer portal.’ I appreciated his honesty.”
