To be fair...

He isn't predicting anything He's saying if the season ended today, that's where he thinks it would sit. Where fans make wrong conclusions is to now think that VT is vying with 4 or 5 other ACC teams for 2 at-large bids...that isn't the case. If VT continues winning, steals one of the Q1 wins then they will find themselves on the good side of the conversation no matter what other ACC teams do/don't do
