Mostly nonsense...

There is some truth in that bigger stronger teams are a worse matchup for VT than teams like UVA that are more skill The moaning and groaning from the fan base is from people who are asking for a team that is 1) athletic 2) skilled 3) big 4) strong And uh...that's just not something a school in Blacksburg, VA can replicate. They never have and never will. Only a handful of teams can do so and even they typically sacrifice experience in doing so So either those people don't understand that's what they're asking for or they're grossly unrealistic in their expectations (or both) The alternative to building a skilled team is one that is big and athletic. If you're not going to get the top 100 big and athletic players, then the further down the list you go the less and less skilled players you have. It is a LOT easier to find skilled players who are overlooked due to athleticism and then scheme to make athleticism less important than the inverse of that. So, is it typically a worse matchup than VT would like to go against athleticism and strength? Yep. Is that the "book" on how to beat VT? No. They haven't had a losing season since MY has been in charge of the program...so any "book" people must be reading is missing chapters

Is our less athletic scheme used by other similar schools?

Can you remind me about this sometime after the game?**

Glad you asked that. IMO if we are a more well oiled machine, we don't

IMO it’s not just our players, it’s how the offense is designed
