Postseason odds?
Hey Hokies! I don’t follow baseball much at all, but I’ve seen a lot of chatter about our late season run here. Do we have realistic odds of making the NCAA tournament? Thanks!

Probably around 50/50 right now with Clemson series being...
the primary deciding factor. PEARatings has a pretty cool Simulator tool (linked below) that allows you to play around with different scenarios and have it generate what it feels the team's NCAA projection would be. Based on their tool, winning the Clemson series at least 2-1 is a must to get in and then would need to win all of our other games outside of the Liberty game. As of now, PEARatings has us as one of the last four teams in so we are very squarely on the bubble.

Must win 2 of 3 vs Clemson

Gotta beat UNCG, and probably Liberty as well.

UNCG & Marshall; Clemson 2/3
Liberty is top 26 in RPI so a win there would be a big boost but isn’t needed if we go 5-2 with series W vs Clemson and 3-0 vs UNCG -Marshall

Yeah, Marshall being an away game might be tough.
We got pounded by them in Bburg earlier.

Right, win at least 3 of 4 non-conference games...If we don't win Clemson
series though, we are very likely out. That's just always been the way with ncaa bids for acc - very few teams with sub .500 conference record have ever made the tourney.

Dylan Tefft wrote a great story on that topic this week for TSL.
