Same issue as men's basketball
always blame it on funding, nil etc etc, but not on coaching acumen and program development.
Money without competency is a endless pit.
We have to hire coaches who are business development guys, Like Robie and Franklin; that job is no longer just coach the sport. I always admired the coach of Miis State, old UVA coach. He built his own program funding for UVA baseball, held his own investment forums, connecting to a huge UVA investment alumni in wall st. Do you think Coach Scheff would be able to give a pitch for investors contributors that talks return of investment, we need x for y, instead invest in a program you will be proud.

He's a pretty nice guy if you get a chance to talk to him, but introverted and an old school ball coach (my opinion). He's worked pretty hard to cultivate a group of key donors. Not sure it's enough.
