You get your #9 guy on with a four ball walk and then you try to bunt him over with your leadoff hitter. Not a real fan of Earl Weaver as I thought he was overly grumpy but one thing I agree with him on is play for the big inning. His reasoning was you only get 27 outs so why waste one as outs are your most precious offensive possession. I thought JMU's bunt in the seventh inning was bad baseball even though they scored the guy from second - they were down three at the time. And besides, AI agrees with me - i.e. bunting is bad (except in certain situations). It's a Run Expectancy thingy...
