The ones that have been around for a while remember the Report (named, I believe after the UVa president that commissioned it, but I could be wrong there) that recommended dismantling the UVA baseball team amongst other things. The reasons cited included terrible attendance and poor team performance.
In other words, their fans are just as fair weather as ours. They just happen to have gotten good (and profoundly, deeply good) before we did.

there have been a few of those type reports, most notably the Gooch Report probably before you were born. I do not recall what the name of the most recent was with baseball but, they are fortunate Charlottesville resident and noted author John Grisham decided to get the funding ball rolling to short circuit the plan.

I don't get into the entire academic ranking stuff and I don't care to be around people who derive their self worth by the stickers they place on their auto windows.
Some alumni are friendlier by nature and upbringing. Fanboyz who have no relationship to the schools are the worst.
