Have his HS or travel coach contact VT coach with a strong recommendation.

I assume that your HS player is a HS 9th or 10th grader. It is probably too late for almost all 11th or 12th graders. Give VT pitching coach Fecteau specifics like pitch velocity, height, weight, HS grades, attitude, and other qualities. A video is also a must. If coach Fecteau has an interest, he will ask the coach to have the player call Fecteau at a set time. (By NCAA rules, coaches can not contact younger players). This will repeat several times, and Fecteau will want to see more video. If still interested, Fecteau will watch the young recruit pitch this summer. Things are too busy with the current season until then for a coach to travel to watch a player. Recruiting at this level is almost always finished by the summer after 10th grade. There may be one or two exceptions in special situations, like losing a player or a super high caliber player become avainable. The player should also consider mid level D-1, D-2, or D-3 schools. They do not recruit prospects as early as the top confernces like the ACC. Good luck to your player.
