so it looks like he just recently turned 18. Assuming they keep the MLB draft in the mid-July timeframe, he would turn 21 in June/July 2027 and I assume he would be 21 before that draft. So if he decided not to graduate early but made it to Blacksburg, in theory, he could decide to only play two years of baseball (2026 and 2027) before opting out for the draft. If he decided to graduate and enroll early, then in theory he could play baseball this spring in 2025 and then have another two seasons (2026 and 2027) before he would be draft eligible. To me, that is an intriguing scenario because one path is he could play baseball in 2025, redshirt in football in 2025 and also play baseball in 2026 before ever playing a down in football as a redshirt freshman. By then, I would think he'd have a good feel of where his athletic future would be and decide accordingly.
