Uva isn’t the top acc program bc of their endowment. Sure - the money into the program helps. But last I check tech has comparable facilities… but results aren’t there. Even in the event baseball can add more schollies. Guys will choose elite brands until they are supplanted. Uva will continue to dominate the state because of a lengthy track record of success in recruiting, post season success, talent development Etc etc etc. Money helps but you have to have the success. Same thing people on here are saying about the pitching lab, etc. Not to toot the horn too much but uva can say if you play 3 years here, based on the past 15 years you are going to the CWS. You play a regional, at home, at the same clip. And after that you are playing professionally. How do you recruit against that? You just don’t. Additionally, uva isn’t operating like that, the same convos have been had on the Sabre over the past few years, and it’s why uva isn’t even better. Vandy, LSU, FL have long been talked about using various financial aid programs etc to their advantage, uva does not. At the end of the day, it’s talent eval and development. Tech has been putting talent into high levels, let those guys get to the league and become an identity. Issue is, at this rate the coach that got them there won’t be around too much longer. Need a new pitching coach and a new approach to recruiting - more playable depth and I think tech will see more consistent success.
