I am not buying the baseball pitch count 100 pitch thinking

Who decided that 100 is the correct orthopedic number of pitches? I don’t think it’s scientific at all- it started with the MLB deciding that mid relievers were the way to go and that has changed the pitching game forever..including at the college level… funny thing remember a guy named Nolan Ryan? They didn’t use this crazy rule when he played and he pitched for over 20 years… thus he has the strikeout record at 5700 which will never be broken because of the new mis reliever concept… the next closest was Steve Carlton at 4100 as info… just my two cents

A lot of it is the focus on max velocity, training methods etc.
