There Will be Unforeseen Implications Here
Teams have already begun leaning heavily on building rosters of mostly upperclassmen through their own ranks and the transfer portal. I expect this is exacerbated with the roster limits. I would think that at some point incoming freshmen will have such difficulty getting on the field at SEC and ACC schools that they may feel their best option is using mid majors and less-funded programs in bigger conferences as a "minor league" where they can get playing time and develop while showing off their abilities to the big programs who can pluck them away in the portal. Otherwise I think a lot of underclassmen talent is going to spoil waiting in the dugout for an opportunity.
