Really? Explain to me the advantage of playing 4 straight days

Tech seems pretty set-up in their schedule to only throw Top pitcher on Tues/Wed, then have him rested for Sat/Sun. Same with #2. Clearly, I'm missing something, like the rule that #1 gets to pick their dates to play.
