But I think I agree that he may not yet be a weekend starter, yet. For one, an 89 mph fastball, even from the left side, is tough to work with in the ACC. The coaching staff didn't give him many opportunities in the ACC so to me that signals they still think he is working to be an ACC level pitcher. Don't get me wrong, he was awesome at pounding the zone and easily the BEST weekday starter Hokies have had in years. I think he can make the next step and get more ACC innings this year. He got a cup of coffee in the Cape this summer and did just fine. I also think the weekend rotation has 4 legit guys with high end stuff in Frow, Aidro, Stieg, and Clement. I think the next step for Swift is being a Grant Manning/Sentlinger swingman with multiple innings in the ACC. Then give him a shot as a weekend guy later in the season if he handles that well.
