put in the tournament, especially in front of an NC State or even ODU. Think the BIG commentators were just pandering to the BIG audience. Rutgers did not have a tourney resume in any shape or form. Rutgers had 36 of their 44 wins against Quads 3 and 4 teams. They had a 3-7 record against the "best" BIG teams. Did not win a series against a top tier BIG team. Lost series against Maryland, Michigan, Iowa. Did not play Illinois. So they just didn't even play good teams in their own league. They had a SOS of 149 and that would be the worst at large team selected by a long shot based on that number....... they only had 1 quad 1 win. Just not a tournament resume in any sense. The committee got this one right. Just can't reward a team for that kind of resume. Funny the Tourney Committee Chair immediately compared NCSU to Ole Miss, and did not even compare them to Grand Canyon. That is another mystery compared to an NCSU. While the Commissioner had some "reasonable" explanation toward NCSU, he did not address Grand Canyon getting in. That was the school that was puzzling relative to leaving NCSU out. Disappointing for the Wolfpack, and they had some star power to bring to the table as well.......NCSU being left out did not even cross my mind. Had two coaching buddies text me this afternoon saying ole Elliott Avent is going to be going ballistic today after learning that :-)......Feel bad for their kids.
