Saw that almost called in a LA at Pittsburgh game in 1986.
Pitt had a grand slam that was a mortar shot high in the air and just over the fence. The runner on 1st held up and the batter crossed 1st to be beside the runner. Lasorda ran from ump to ump to try to get the "passing the runner" call. I don't think the umps realized it or ruled he hadn't PASSED the runner. Watching Lasorda was highly entertaining.
