Looks to me like the NIL athletes we saw this
Season were not much of a TEAM. No true leader and now the temporary band of Hokie basketball players will disband for the portal. If they would have been a team, they would have taken the extra practices and games as a way to get better for next season. College sports and its participants are screwed up and many will be less successful adults because they only play for themselves.

All season long our passing
has been lazy. Never a crisp pass and rarely a bounce pass. Not to mention lazy hedge defense.

Horrible defensive effort, no killer instinct and free

The talent we had on the team. Yes he coached a few who made the nfl, but only as good as the weakest link especially on defense.

Listened to Level 7 podcast from today,
as I felt that this was more than a coaching hire. It was more of a Corporate America Executive hiring process. Proven by the comments made by Pearson, Rocovich and even Bud (who impressed me with his knowledge and skill in this process). Lawyers and agents were just going in circles and relentless perseverance won out. Go Hokies! Beat Miami and UVa. Get some recruits and portal guys and let’s win.

With this being an early opening in the cycle, Sexton is setting the market
for all of his clients not just Franklin. Sexton will make a lot of money in the next 2 months on the backs of his clients being extended for more money or moving for more money. $$$Go Hokies!$$

Early stages means Sexton
has worked his magic and now Franklin and the BOV are finalizing the fit for both parties. Then the final contract negotiations happen. Once agreed upon, the decision of the “most bang for the buck” announcement timing will be made. Go Hokies! But it’s not a done deal yet but can happen fast.

2 weeks maybe 3 before coach is announced even
if agreement is already done. The timing announcement is more like traditional Corporate America executive hiring than traditional college football coach hiring.

I know we don’t have a passing qb, but results from receiver group hasn’t been great.

Every pass over 5 yards
is either way under thrown or overthrown. And the stupid penalties and special teams mistakes. Hard to win like this unless you have elite talent and VT doesn’t. Go Hokies.

Mistake ridden. Bill and Mike still don’t know that the TE didn’t get in on the 3rd and short. They thought they were going for 2 instead of 1st and goal. Probably should have been reviewed but GT went too fast for the booth.

Nobody covering their tight end. That’s their entire offense which has led to every score. Not to mention our OL and QB are playing poorly. Go Hokies! Win the 2nd half and the game.

is gonna be Interim OC? Not sure you want split duties for an Interim HC that needs to produce some wins. Are we gonna see some early season opt outs/portal entries? All great responses, I am not bashing our team, however
when I looked at the returners and then the 2 deep, it was clear that we hadn’t yet built the team that could win a championship without some breaks.Therefore, I told all my buddies that I had hope but didn’t believe the hype. A few bad calls by refs, coaches and a few key turnovers could have made it a better season but that’s sports. Gotta get a few breaks, have some luck and better coaching and talent. Still looking forward to 2025. Hopefully recruiting and portal pickups will make for a deeper team. Go Hokies..

Never understood the hype
for the 24 season. 20 of 22 starters returning from a bad team in 23 and a few transfers shouldn’t have created the hype that led to a lot of disappointment for some fans. Just as this portal class may or may not make the team better in 2025. Go Hokies.

DBU not anymore. I’ve watched other team’s offensive lines
they put defenders on the ground. Our OL is still standing up looking around on every play. What happened to VT football.

20/22 from a mediocre team last year that
doesn’t equal the hype at the beginning of the season. And it takes a good 44 (2 deep) to have a chance at being really good. Go Hokies!

I would say gap integrity for the Linebackers was worse. Just
Watch the plays from the umpire head cam (I think that’s where those shots came from) and our guys went the wrong way and weren’t blocked either.

Clock management at end of both halves ????? Shlee made some
Unfortunate decisions but better than the coaching decisions. Coaches Could have given the team a lot of confidence going into the Clemson game but too conservative to win against SU. Go Hokies!!
