Posting History (32)

They pulled a this years version of VT in the Final Four

Had a comfortable lead in the last 2 minutes vs Houston, and somehow blew it. Couldn't believe what I was watching. I guess, even the most talented teams can tighten up at the end of games.

The preseason #1 and #2 ranked teams missed the tournament

A&M and Uva. I wonder if that has ever happened before? Crazy! ** Edited by sdawg at 5/26/2025, 12:52:55 PM

9:00 on a Wednesday was my excuse for not going. However,

I gave my 3 tickets to a friend, so my seats were accounted for. I did my part to help out :)

Yep, his 3 HR day that Sunday at VT was one of the best performances

that I ever saw in person. We also intentionally walked him that game..... when he lead off to hit one inning. You don't see that very often. :) Barring any major injury, that kid will be in a big league uniform really soon. Same can be said for Chase Burns. There is some amazing talent in the ACC.

I don't know how he has any eligibility left

It feels like he has been at Duke for 10 years...and he still has another year that he can play :)

And we got to see 13 of them!

I don't think I have ever seen 13 guys pitch in one game, at any level. Was hoping we would get a position player with one more pitching change :)

My favorite thing about going to the Spring Game is

Listening to the people around me. If the D forces a 3 and out, then there is always someone around me saying the play calling and/or the offense sucks. If a RB breaks off a big run, the defense sucks! Sometimes is the same guy. It never disappoints. đŸ¤Ŗ Side note, this may be the deepest group of WR's we have ever had. We've had good WR's in the past....but not this many!

Would have been nice to see those 4 ACC teams in 4 separate regions as well

Instead, the committee put those 4 teams in 2 regions, making it to where a max of 2 could reach the Final 4. That limits the overall $ for the ACC as well. Yes, no one expected to see the run Clemson and State have went on, but it would have been cool to see these teams + Dook have a shot to get 3 in the Final 4. Who knows, as of now, its still mathematically possible to have an all acc championship, but that's quite the stretch :) ** Edited by sdawg at 3/30/2024, 10:56:57 AM

That's a 1983 type run for NC State

Jimmy V is smiling from above. Well done, State. You earned it.

Brian Fitzgerald also has a card w/ the Mariners.

I do a similar thing with my son, with all VT sports. I don't have a bunch of autos, but mostly focus on the rookie cards. Its a really cool father son hobby! Also, Ian Seymour and Cade Hunter have a few as well. Hopefully they will be in the show one day!

You would think that a school that is suing its own conference

Would not get any favorable calls. Guess not. Can't stand that school. Didn't play that great, but didn't get any help either.

That was a 3 for Long

his foot was on the NBA 3 PT line. Edit: I may be wrong. The red line may not be the college 3pt line. ** Edited by sdawg at 11/23/2023, 9:43:43 PM

He originally committed to VT

but that was when Buzz was here. I think he committed as a fresh or soph in high school, and VT later backed off, but not 100% sure about that. It was a similar situation with the Langley twins.

I park in Lot 7 (Vet Building) or Lot 16 (the cage)

Both lots are basically across the street from the ball park. I also noticed last weekend that they have a few people with golf carts that can give you a lift to and from the park from those lots as well.

We held BC to 59 pts in regulation. We easily win by double digits if

We simply covert 1/3 of the missed layups / put backs into points, and only turn the ball over at our season average. BC was 3-19 from 3. Many of those misses resulted in second chance opportunities for BC, causing us to have to defend for another 20-30 seconds. Also, it seemed that every 50/50 ball found the hands of a BC player. Yes, the refs decided to turn it in to a football game, but it's not why we lost. It was a combination of many things that went wrong that only seems to happen when we play at that graveyard :) Hopefully Hunter will be back sooner than later. We will miss everything he brings on both ends of the floor. Also hope that a combination of MJ and Rice (when he returns) can step up until then.

I wonder who was the media guy from NC that cast the one vote on the ballot

They probably dropped them from #1 to #5. One spot for every consecutive loss đŸ¤ŖđŸ¤ŖđŸ¤Ŗ

When ESPN lost contracts with Big East basketball, NHL, and Nascar

They did everything they could to ignore them. Sort of like a "let's see how well you do without us" attitude. They have hockey back, and now all of the sudden it's a cool sport again. Haha. I get it if they want to promote their products, but don't call yourself the "worldwide leader in sports" if you pick and choose what sports you want to cover. I will also be curious to see how they handle this as well. ** Edited by sdawg at 11/29/2022, 2:42:27 PM

Not sure, but my guess would be the ACC opener vs Unc

Would make more sense unveiling it then, instead of the first game against Delaware St at 9:00 on a Monday night. :)

PJ Horne is in the transfer portal

He is a great guy, great teammate, and a great representative of the school. Best of luck to him wherever he lands. If he can't find a home this late in the process, we do have one spot available in a limited role off the bench. Just sayin! 😊

Owyn Dawyot

Walk on spot. Great kid and great family. His grandfather, Peter, played football with Beamer at VT.

Does FSU take anyone under 7'0?

Or maybe Naheim grew 7 inches in the last month. :)

Best of luck to him wherever he lands. I will be pulling for him He was a great representative of VT on and off the court.
