Posting History (23)

He eats up space and is hard to move...

I wouldn't expect freshmen 5s to be able to contribute too much but he is really helping while other injuries exist.

Was there for the 48-0 game...

Sitting in our car trying to get out of the parking lot to head home and the goal post was happily being carried on hokie shoulders down the street! One of our finest moments...

About 15 to 20 years ago the Florida Gators...

made all the high schools stop using the Florida "F" and the gators logo. There were a lot of high schools who had to retool their logos.

I would like to see what Jim Dymock of Davidson's from back in the

70s would have done with Pry's choices of Hokie clothing...Jim was a clothing artist!

My experience has been the during the "hurricane season" with lots of rain

that neither needs a lot of watering. Out of that wet season the St. Augustine does need watering as does the zoysia but here in Central Florida the zoysia goes dormant for 3+ months and turns brown while the St. Augustine keeps a nice green color. The St. Augustine would use more water while the zoysia is dormant...gosh I miss my St. Augustine and how green it is and how fast it fills in bare spots!

Empire Zoysia

Lived in South Florida for 30 years and loved my St. Augustine grass! Moved to Central Florida (Ocala) in 2018 and the new home had Empire Zoysia...in 5 years I haven't figured out the damn grass and it still looks like crap. My neighbor has her Empire Zoysia removed and had St. Augustine installed. I am waiting for the St. Augustine to come on over and take control of my yard!

There wasn't enough proof to overturn

different camera angles could have given proof to overturn but from the angle shown it was inconclusive and allowed the original call to stand. If the umpire called her safe and it was challenged that would also not have been overturned since the angle shown was inconclusive. Proof has to be provided to overturn a call.

That's why we had a second one for parts...

We lived in France from 1959 to 1962 and had a Renault 4cv. When we returned stateside dad somehow decided he wanted the Citroen with the hydraulic suspension...It was the talk of Highland Springs back then!

Learned to drive on a 1959 Citroen with 4 on the tree...

The military called it the breathing alligator since it had hydraulic suspension and you could set the car at several different heights depending on road conditions. It was only 4 cylinders but it could really go!

It was on the ACC Network...

but was running late. At 8 the UNC game came on before the FSU game finished.

Back in the 60s

The only powers south of the James were Petersburg and Hopewell...I went to Highland Springs and we were mediocre in the late 60s (Won the state at the beginning of the decade) ** Edited by palmbeachhokie at 8/27/2022, 12:45:10 PM

Water breaks???

In the 60s at Highland Springs it was "go over there and grab a handful of salt tablets"!!!
