It’s a shame that probably only the most diehard fans are going to be browsing this board at this time of year. More basketball fans would probably be interested if they knew.

This is a great story about a ref who is retiring after 32 seasons (link below), but I found this part especially interesting: He finally decided to come back this season, but by mid-January he had decided this would be his last. “I had a game at Bryant [in Rhode Island] and my flight was canceled, so I had to drive,” he said. “It took about seven hours to get there. I just decided enough was enough. It was time.” Refs have to "perform" in a similar way to the players on the court. I can't imagine driving seven hours and then being able to perform at anywhere close to my best in an athletic contest.

Just looking at the Bracket Matrix, we'd have to "pass" all of these teams: New Mexico, North Carolina, Utah State, Clemson, Texas Tech, Arizona State, Penn State, Oregon And then knock (at least) one of these teams out: Pittsburgh, Oklahoma State, Boise State, West Virginia, Memphis, Mississippi State, USC, Wisconsin That's too tall an order with only two games remaining. Count me firmly in the "ACC tournament games don't matter" camp. The at large group is set before the P5 conferences start, IMHO.
