Does anyone know if VT has GA's for baseball?

My son is looking to get into coaching and is looking for a GA position. He just finished his eligibility at Jacksonville State. If they do, I am guessing they have a lot of interest, and I just wonder the best way to open the door to get someone to give him a look and listen. He has had calls with 4 schools already, but I know he would LOVE to be a GA at VT.

Jacksonville State v. UVA

My son, who would have given anything to play for VT, plays for Jacksonville State. They are ranked 21st in the final poll and 25th in RPI. They got a 3 seed, which I thought showed a lot of disrespect especially with 2 wins over Auburn and the best ERA among mid-majors. Nonetheless, I think they have a shot in this regional with Southern Miss, UVA, and Little Rock. Frankly, they could go 0-2 or they could take it. it should be interesting. I am hoping they can knock of the Hoos on Friday night!!

Suggestions on where to stay in St. Thomas...

My wife and I are thinking of going to St. Thomas in mid-April. Does anyone have any suggestions on where to stay? A nice beach is a must!!

Justin Fuente... What if....

What if he were hired today; VT supported him like it says it is going to support the next coach; and he was not undercut by holdovers? I always thought he was a good hire that was sabotaged by others.

Orlando Golf Course Recommendations Please

Three of my sons and I are going to Orlando in July for a golf trip. What courses available to the pubic should we play? I am definitely including Bay Hill, but then the lists of "best courses" are all over the place. I would appreciate any thoughts good or bad from those who have played courses in that area. Please be sure to include those to avoid.

Miami Beach Area... places to stay?

My son pitches for Jacksonville State, and they play at Florida International this Spring. I am looking for a place to stay on the beach in the Miami, Miami Beach, Key Bisayne area. I have looked at the website for Fontainbleau and Radisson Resort, both on the beach. Does anyone know anything about either of those? I am willing to spend a little more than those cost if anyone has recommendations. Thank you.

Thinking of visiting Denver....

My wife and I have never been to Denver and are considering a trip next year. She really wants to see a concert at Red Rocks. What are some suggestions on other things to do and where to stay? I am thinking of coupling this with the Kenny Chesney/Zac Brown concert there in July. Thank you!!

Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail

I am considering a trip to the RJT golf trail that would include Ross Bridge, Oxmoor Valley (both courses), and the Judge and Senator at Capitol Hill. How are the courses? Is it worth the trip? I am also considering going to Arcadia Bluffs in Michigan and hitting a couple of other courses along with way such as Harbor Shores and American Dunes. Tough choice!!! Thoughts from anyone who may have been to these are much appreciated.

I miss MY teams....

I grew up in southwest Virginia and was a Reds, Rams, and Celtics fan. I knew every player on the team year after year, and my allegiance stood strong for years. Teams remained fairly solid except for the occasional block-buster trade (e.g., Reds acquiring Morgan, Menke, Billingham, and Cedeno for May and Helms). Then free agency came, which I understand, but it was never the same. Fast forward to the professional leagues now where people follow fantasy players, not teams. I miss following MY teams. Now, college has moved so far down that road that it is sad, just sad. I loved following recruiting to see who the next Hokies were going to be and looked forward to watching their careers over the next 4-5 years. Now, it's down to just seeing who sticks and who doesn't, who is going and who is coming. I am older and definitely old-fashioned in many ways, and I do not like what is ridiculously referred to as NIL. This system is not paying players for name, image, and likeness; it is paying them to choose and has little, if anything, to do with proven performance and return on investment. Colleges and their boosters are just throwing money at players. As many have said, they made what used to be against the rules now above board. At least with professional free agency, there is some risk and reward analysis. There has to be a better way. The NCAA and those associated with this current mess have turned this into something worse than I ever imagined. I know... nothing new here of substance, but I felt like venting.

Recommendations for accommodations in St. Thomas?

My wife and I are considering going to St. Thomas in January. I would appreciate any recommendations. Also, would I need to rent a car? Thank you.
