Elite 11
I think QP was in the elite 11 finals back in 2017 but it doesn't look like he performed nearly as well as Borque did.

Incentive
I think the idea is that the incentives just seem off when it comes to these buyouts/contracts. If I know I'm going to get paid an enormous sum of money regardless of whether I do well or not, why bother putting in the extra time and effort to actually do well and perform at a high level? Of course, I think most coaches do put in maximum effort regardless, but it does make you wonder just on a rational level whether it makes a difference. And with some of these schools, you're basically getting more than a lifetime's worth of money, regardless of the results you produce on the field. This isn't the coaches fault though. It comes down to the ridiculous nature of the contracts themselves. LSU could've just offered less money or a more incentive laden contract to its coach to protect itself more in this scenario but then, it wouldn't have been able to hire Kelly in the first place most likely. It's just the way the market is right now it seems but it'll be interesting to see if it starts to evolve.

Wenzel
Wenzel is an incredibly good on-ball defender for only being a redshift freshman. It's not even really close, she's our best at defending on the ball. If she continues to build confidence on the offensive end, she could be a pretty special two way player.

Yes but..
This is what CC has talked about previously too. A lot of these older guys WERE productive players earlier in their careers with solid numbers, and then all of a sudden (as of last year), they just aren't good any longer? It doesn't make a ton of sense. I agree with CC a lot too on his point about X's and O's. For all of Fuente's faults, I think he may have been one of the best pure X's and O's guys VT has ever had. He just knew the game of football inside and out from a schematic standpoint. I think he just mismanaged too many other aspects of the program for it to matter. Right now, I just don't get the sense we are "out-coaching" or "out-scheming" the other side to help mask our deficiencies at all, but I'm def not an expert.

WCAC
It should. DeMatha plays in the WCAC which is about as good as it gets, top to bottom, for a HS basketball conference. DeMatha, St Johns, O'Connell, Gonzaga, etc..these teams are always good and always have high-level D1 talent. It helps playing against that level of competition night in and night out.
