Over-rated
Based on what I saw, I think that Iowa is over-rated. They rely too much on trying to get the ball inside and don’t have quality outside shooters. Once UVA packed folks underneath (it took them awhile), Iowa was pretty average. And, had they made free throws, they would have probably won the game…..shooting 8 for 16 from the charity stripe will usually bite most teams in the end.

Virginia
The BIG difference between Virginia and VA Tech is that Virginia finds a way to win the close games and we cannot do the same. It is SO frustrating, but glad that the team played well today and we finally had a comfortable win.

Terry Smith
ESPN reporting that Terry Smith has agreed to a four year deal to stay on at Penn State as an assistant to Matt Campbell. Hope that we can still get some of the Penn State boys through the Portal.

So Sad
Never dreamed that our team would show up so uninspired. Their performance tonight (players and coaches) are an embarrassment to prior teams, our fans and the university. Shame on them for not showing up to play a game that is so important to us fans. I literally felt that we had a chance to win this game. How terribly wrong was I and so many others that felt that we would show up to play inspired football. Just looking forward to next year and a coach that will hopefully return our football program to respectability.

Coaching Issue?
It’s a coaching issue related to recruiting. You’ve got to get some size in the middle so others can play their natural positions. Need to devote some $ to the WBB program.

Pop in the game against UVA
As much as I don’t care for Drones, I’d rather see him over Pop. Pop is too much of a Hot-Dog, as evidenced by his spiking the ball after his TD yesterday. He exhibited some of the same immature tendencies last year in the game against UVA. Our best chance is running the ball and Drones is stronger in that area. And, we need for our defense to show up and play halfway decent.

Question
I noted last night on our game on ESPN and again today on the ACC Network that they are showing UVA with a 3-0 conference record. Didn’t they lose to NC State, which would give them a conference loss? What am I missing?

Sad
It’s so sad how much our football program has deteriorated. I remember hardly ever losing at home; there was always some positive plays on both offensive and defense. Not so anymore. Don’t know how the coaches could miss so badly on Drones after last years performance and being able to watch him in the spring. I don’t know if the team just doesn’t care or if they are just so inferior talent wise to the competition. Sadly, I see where an anonymous Virginia donor ponyed up another $2 million to their football program. Looks like UVA will continue to get better as they invest in the portal. I hate to think about what the score will be in C’Ville this year.

Money Buys You Better Sports Teams
Just look at Virginia. They were ranked near the top 10 in amount of money available for the portal and then had a couple of large donors pony up even more for football, men’s basketball and women’s basketball. Look at how improved their football program is; you likely will see similar results in both basketball programs. On top of that, they have recently built first class, state of the art, facilities to support their student athletes. Sadly, we simply don’t have the large donors like Virginia (or apparently Stanford). I agree that it is sad what has happened to college sports.

This is pitiful. It’s obvious, even from the first batter, that Mazzarone was out of gas. He should have replaced her after the first walk. Can’t believe that he is leaving her in after three consecutive walks. Common Coach!!!!

Big Win!
Great Win for the Ladies today! Nice recovery after a very tough loss to Stanford). Was also happy to see NC State take down ND. Now hoping for a LSU win over Kentucky (I never root for LSU because I don’t care for their coach, but I dislike Kentucky even more).

UVA next year
I’m getting a little concerned about UVA and their football program. They have added a lot of players through the portal…..now using a lot of their portal money that was earmarked specifically for football by big time donors.

A win is a win, but they played like crap. Poor coaching and ball handling most of the entire last quarter. Fortunate to win when you only score 8 points in the final quarter.

Coach Pry
I have been very disappointed in Coach Pry. He lacks emotion on the sideline; just always making notes on his clipboard. We clearly lack talent on both sides of the ball, but my worry is recruiting for the future if he doesn’t show any emotion. Is he another Jimmy Sharpe?

We cannot tackle; how many times could we have had them stopped if we could just wrap up there ball carriers. Again, this team is poorly coached and Pry shows no emotion. Very disappointed in him thus far.

QB Wells
Wells is awful. If he could have done anything last week, we would have won. He’s letting BC hang in there despite a great performance by the defense. I’m having a bad feeling about this game.

Definitely out coached!
Pete has had a bad two weeks. Definitely don’t understand his use of our pitchers. But, as Hokie Jack said yesterday, I’m not the coach. Good season, just a shame to get embarrassed in the Super Regionals on National TV.
