Board (no longer posting there). I feel my position is a realistic one. They won some good games, tOSU and LSU being the best examples in my mind. Miami would be good but really, they are a head case now and then. Nebraska was past its time. I believe if Jesse Allen had caught that ball, if Danny Cole’s catch hadn’t been ruled not a catch, if Justin Hamilton hadn’t been robbed and for goodness sakes, if the HC could have just seen that second half onside kick coming imagine where VT would be right now. Boise State is the poster child for that. The Auburn, Georgia, Michigan and USC games were all very winnable but they ended up being setbacks at a time when VT was trying to make the case that they were a player. VT won a lot of games but they needed to win some against high notoriety opponents during that time frame, but more often than not they came up short. I know the LSU and OSU wins were great. One, if a tiered system were implemented early on eventually players would want to be able to break up the system to allow them to independently negotiate their compensation. Two, asserting that the NCAA started this by not doing anything is wrong. It was the fan bases, boosters and donors who wanted their teams to have the best talent by cheating and giving money to players that started this. And their respective schools willingly looked the other way or participated. All IMO of course.

of good players at bad times. A win is a win, regardless of the circumstances. UNC is blue blood basketball royalty and should have the talent on the bench to overcome an injury loss like that. If Bacot was in would Nance have been? Nance got 10 rebounds but if Bacot was there would he have as many? We out-rebounded UNC because we grabbed more than they did. Period. This is a good win.
