I agree, it's all about TV markets, so entering NC and VA are more interesting/attractive to the BIG and SEC than capturing some additional incremental market share in SC and FL. However, from a cultural standpoint, UNC and UVA make more sense to join the SEC and VT and NCST make more sense to join the BIG. Most SEC schools are snobby elitist types, which is how I view UVA and UNC. Texas A&M is probably the exception. BIG schools are "big state schools" with blue-collar kids. That's more VT and NCST. The obvious exception is Michigan. In short, VT is more like Iowa, Penn St, Wisconsin. UVA/UNC are more like UGA, Florida, and Tennesse. Just my opinion.

Followed by WVU, OK St. ND is going to the BIG, let's all just agree that's going to happen. If the ACC gets to 16 with Baylor and Kansas, that's a pretty good conference. If they expand to 20, which is where everyone seems to think the SEC and BIG are going, we can take Baylor, Kansas, WVU, Ok St., UCF, and Cincy. I know UCF and Cincy will be looked down upon, but no one cares about Texas Tech or Iowa St, so I'd rather have UCF and Cincy.

I'm guessing the BIG12 folds when the PAC12 expands. There's a story on ESPN suggesting the PAC12 is looking to expand. They are at 10 teams now. I believe they will try to get to 16. >> OKSt and Baylor seem to be in a good position. Unsure who the other 4 would be. If/When the BIG12 folds, the ACC should immediately add Kansas & WVU. I think these 2 teams would love to move to the ACC. Joining the PAC would be ridiculous geography. Basketball would be insane and WVU, as much as people on this board like to make fun, is a great football and would immediately rekindle rivalries with VT, PITT, SYR, LOU, UVA. We'd then have P4 - BIG, PAC, SEC, ACC @ 64 teams.
