Why are we fooling ourselves with the concept of Studeny Athlete anymore?

It doesn't exist, and hasn't for a long time. No matter what the institutions say, they only care about winning too. The amount of college athletes (in the major sports) that put getting a degree first and foremost is almost nothing. They arent playing student. I dont blame them for it either. Just create the players union and collective bargaining agreement already. Not sure why you are offended by someone making money based on their skillset. Neo can ask whatever he wants for his services, if someone pays it, that is their decision.

Agreed. UCONN Michigan should be good Monday.

I dont know much about Michigan coach, but Hurley is pretty darn good for UCONN. Michigan talent looks better though.

Not sure what you are getting at, but we are in that world now.

If salary caps are set for major sports, would it not level everything out? No one likes kids playing for 5 colleges in 5 years. This creates more issues than solutions. They definitely arent playing student at this point. Just make it the minors, with good pay.

With the openings that will be at the end of the season, we likely need to

Look at a successful G5, or lower, head coach. If we are focused on P4 coaches, we get another coordinator. That isn't what we need. Chesney is not a bad option.

I am completely fine with an up and coming G5 coach as long as they have

Had that success. I think there is more fire there and willingness to think outside the box. Franklin might be good but he ain't changing what got him fired from Penn State.

Well said. This is the world college athletics lives in now.

We need to be as aggressive as ever to continue to grow. Do I like what KB did to us? No! But I know it will happen again, and will continue to until the wild wild west is settled. We need to participate.
