Posting History (260)

Any ref worth a damn should've seen that the ball was tipped by UVA...

Just another example of how we get no respect on the road. If I were CMY I'd be making a call to conference office and raise hell because it's BS how we always get the shaft when we play NC, Duke, UVA, NC State...basically all the original ACC teams.

Tremendous effort guys...

but you have to make your free throws in situations like this... another example of how we can't finish. As a team we don't do the little things well or consistently enough.

Brian Oliver makes a very astute observation...

"VT needs to have a lot more discipline in their shot attempts"...every time we get close we take some really pathetic shots attempts IMO. ** Edited by TWHokie at 3/7/2026, 1:42:25 PM

It's not over...

but they dug themselves a seriously big hole because they lost their composure and stopped doing the things that got them back into the game. Too many DUMB mistakes/decisions/turnovers that gave UVA easy run outs...it's like they can't understand what gets them beat.

Neo has got to attack the basket

when it's there instead of settling for jumpers or passing the ball...he had the UVA defense in a bind and passed it for a turnover instead of getting in the lane. He's got to play with more aggression and use his height advantage. ** Edited by TWHokie at 3/7/2026, 12:50:20 PM

You really don't want me to answer that do you...

what does not playing at an early age have to do with some of the decisions he makes? Unless I'm mistaken he's been playing since he was 14-15 years old, receiving above average coaching. Look at Neo...he's been playing PROFESSIONALLY since he was 14 and he makes some of the same mistakes Tobi does. When you start playing has no definitive bearing on whether your basketball IQ will be improved. Hakeem Olajuwon didn't started playing basketball until he was 15 and look how he turned out. If anything you might be better off not playing at a early age because you don't have to un-learn bad habits, etc.

As great as Lawal's athletic ability his basketball IQ the opposite SMDH

he makes some of the dumbest plays and/or decisions. Love his effort though....most of the time lol.

Is palming/carrying the basketball called any more?

What BC's Donald Hand was doing just a few seconds ago was ridiculous 🙄

Yeah they need Johnson BAD

I think his presence makes 3 of our losses wins....with him tonight Donaldson doesn't go off IMO.

Boy our players basketball IQ is sooo bad...

You let Donaldson get off of 3 and then you go down and take a very poor shot.

He doesn't seem to understand how to use his athletic ability to his

advantage. A lot of the time all he has to do is just be patient and wait for the guy to go up instead of just reacting to every pump fake...the other players are aware of his vertical and will a lot of times overreact to avoid having their shot blocked.

If you don't think Joker and Doncic play physical

then you obviously haven't been watching them play. Foreign/European players have been playing much more physical over the last several years....for instance have you ever watched Giannis play? Just saying 🙄

Neo's mid-season on lack of aggression on offense/overall is so odd...

has ACC play been that difficult for him? If so he should definitely stay at VT for at least another year because I don't see him all of a sudden becoming more aggressive/physical...needs at least another college year to build up his body, improve his shooting and gain more confidence...the NBA will be there when you're ready. He can take the chance and go into the draft and sit on the bench for multiple years or play in the G league or you can stay in college, get paid well and improve your skills while playing.

Our basketball IQ is crap! So many stupid decisions 🙄

We should be up by 10-12 points right now. ** Edited by TWHokie at 2/11/2026, 8:51:54 PM

He didn't foul him, he didn't even touch him

It was a BS call only reason ref blew the whistle is because he missed the layup.

Why don't they ever call Clemson for a foul

when they try to go over the screen, they are grabbing or holding us a LOT.

Tyler Johnson has got to get back SOON

they really miss his defense and all around game. We would be able to match up much better defensively too...defense isn't Neo's strong suit.

Shooting 3's is not the problem

it's who is shooting them. CMY needs to reel Lawal and for now Neo in until he begins to play with confidence again.

Clean block there IMO

here come all the phantom calls on behalf of Duke.

Lawal and 3 PT shooting %

Entering tonight's game 13.6%. Why is he shooting them...to keep teams honest? When you're shooting 3's that poorly there's no such thing as keeping the other team honest, you're throwing away possessions. ** Edited by TWHokie at 1/27/2026, 9:10:08 PM

That looked like a BS call...didn't look like he even touched him

Syracuse guy flopped/fell down when he shot the ball and the ref bought it...they were doing it every time when someone contested their shot.

If Mike Young doesn't spend A LOT OF TIME working on end of game situations

with this team he needs to be seriously questioned. There's no excuse for the utter stupidity this team displays end of game. I've seen high school teams execute better and understand the clock better. Ridiculous.

I 100% agree....if he was smart he'd stay in college another year...

he's having trouble adjusting to the physicality of American basketball...NBA is even worse.

I wouldn't say useless...but it's PRETTY DAMN CLOSE! đŸ¤Ŗ

Think about this a sec....

They would be 15-2 and 4-0 in conference...and maybe even ranked, if they had just made their free throws and played with smarts at the end of these last 2 losses 🙄
