It sounds like it's entirely possible he lost the bag in mid jump, due to the wind speed and not being able to hang on to it. Which lends itself well to two more things: one, the amount of money washed up and eventually found on the banks of the river, and two, if he lost his $200k bounty, that lends itself to his desire to do it again to make up for the loss, thus the later "copycat" hijacking that ultimately got him arrested, and put in jail. Then he escapes, and ends up getting shot and killed by the FBI. It seems all very plausible, that he couldn't hang on to the original "bag" and lost it mid jump.

modifications, and apparently documented the mods very well..... that could be the one thing that solves it and proves it. The fact that the FBI didn't turn the rig back over to them, and requested and got DNA of the son, and apparently seemed interested in exhuming the body of McCoy II, seems like it might be the real deal. If it is, talk about a tough secret for the kids to have kept for a long long time, just out of attempt to protect mother and not implicate. Amazing tick-a-locks on their mouths. For a long long time. Like Hokierit, this is a fascinating story, and makes it all the more interesting when someone pulls something like this and the feds can't solve it. After all this time. Remarkable story.

Nicky Mason's "Saucerful of Secrets" band in there would be trippy as well. They could really have fun with the visuals in there with the old stuff!

after their ~first~ "Achtung Baby" tour in 1991. For the very expensive ticket prices (in 1991 dollars), their sound mix was total ****. Garbage. Muddy industrial mess that way way way overpowered vocals. I've heard amatuer bar bands sound better. Additionally, they refused to hit ~any~ material from anything earlier than "Unforgettable Fire." And that was in flipping 1991. Entire show was from '86 "Fire" (2 whole songs, "Pride" and "Bad"), 87 "Joshua" and "Rattle", and then their industrial mess hour. Just awful. Never again. Now, if someone can convince David Gilmour to do some shows in that joint..... yeah, I'll pay top dollar to experience that. But glad you got to experience that cool place. Modern construction and tech marvel.

Van I, II, Women Children, and Fair Warning are masterpieces of hard rock. Diver Down has some shining moments, but it was a quickie cash grab by the record company. Way way too many covers. A band that talented, shouldn't be doing more than one cover per album. 1984 was exactly what Ed wanted it to be for moving into keyboard driven hit making. Cue Jump. Huge huge huge single. players in the world. Until Roth's Vegas wannabe showman crapola started to take over. He can't sing for **** honestly. But he was a hell of a rock band front man. One of the best of all time. Van Hagar = a totally different animal. It was a pop-rock band, with one of the greatest guitar players in the world, and a singer who in fact can sing, in standard E tuning range (they had to tune down everything at least a half step for Roth, and Ed got sick of it). Some smash pop rock hits. A very few really aggressive rock songs, like in the old days of I, II, Women Children First, and Fair Warning. Completely different animal. Ed wasn't an aggressive punk kid anymore. He wanted to write hits, geared toward late 80s early 90s, with lots of production and keys. And then show off his guitar when he wanted to. But Ed wrote all of that music, all the keyboard driven poppy crappola stuff, which I happen to hate. People like to blame Hagar. It was all Ed. Ed wrote all of that music. Handed it to Hagar, here write lyrics. I actually like a lot of Hagars rocking stuff, both with Montrose (Rock Candy, Bad Motor Scoot), and solo... had some tremendous rockers, and a little bit of pop, but he could really rock on stuff like Heavy Metal, Only One Way to Rock, Three Lock Box, I Don't Need Love, Fast Times Ridgemont High, and others. Listen to I Don't Need Love from Three Lock Box. Holy hell that rocks man. All about SEX too, not romance lovey dovey "Love Walks In".... that was all Ed. What became of those bands, was all due to egos and control, and the stage of life Ed happened to be in at the time. My preference? Roth Halen. Anything from the first four albums. SOME from 1984. Not all. I never listen to any Van Hagar anymore. No desire. But throw on Only One Way to Rock, and I'm there man.

1971, is really remarkable. The hand splicing of all the tape loops, stringing yards and yards of tape up around the studio using mic stands, in order to get the loops right, and then when it came time to mix the thing, it took all hands on the mixing board at the same time, to do the ridiculous pans left and right, and the ups and downs.... no computers to just back it up and fix it. They were "performing" on the mixing of the dang thing. One person screwed up, start all over again. It's just recorded and engineered to perfection. Then on top of all of that, it was probably the last time they actually worked as a full team of a band, with everyone's input and ideas worked on as a team. It is really a remarkably well written, amazingly performed, and just unbelievably well mixed and engineered recording. One of the all time best.

Guitars, bass, keys, organ, the works. Mr. MIT had to go recruit a band after he made it, find guys who could play it properly. He made that album with his freaking demos. He did it on the down low, when the studio wanted much of the stuff re-recorded. Ha. Favorite track: "Hitch a Ride" Outstanding outro solo. Sholtz just killed that one. Amazingly good stuff.

I don't know about Alive II, but I can tell ya straight from his mouth, because he did it all, the only thing honestly live, on KISS Alive is the drum tracks and the crowd noise.

He had to, not just the band wanted to, he HAD TO go back and re-record all vocals and all guitar, including bass.

They made that many mistakes, and had that much pitchy-ness in vocal delivery.

The live album was essentially re-built in his studio. Straight from his mouth.

Now, that doesn't surprise me in the least, given KISS one, and two, how difficult it must be to perform in those get-ups, but truthfully, it's not a live recording, except Criss and the audience.

It was straight massive. And delivered by a band hitting their full stride.

That's what makes that Live After Death recording so good..... they were on on on.....

I like telling this small story too.... Twisted Sister opened on the leg of that huge tour I saw. The "staged" thing Dee Snider did during their set was so lame, and clearly pre-rehearsed. They are rocking out to whatever, and he stops the show, stops the song, tells the light guy to bring the house lights up, and proceeds to go nuts berating someone in the front row at the barrier fence for not head banging enough for Dee's liking. Totally goes off and shames the "target" and fires up the crowd by telling him that he needs to get the F out of there, and let some of the crazy MF'ers in the back have his spot.

Target skulks away in shame. Lights back down, song starts again.

So freaking staged it was silly. But they did it. Probably night after night after night. Lame.

But Maiden? Ha. Nothing lame about that show. Absolutely incredible.

they found the perfect DeYoung replacement in McGowen. He can play his ass off, can sing every DeYoung part, and TS and JY don't have to put up with DDeYoung's stupid BS and ego an wanting to dominate everything with his show tunes and ballads constantly.

And they have one of the best drummers in the entire world in Sucherman. He is off the charts good.

"Wanted, Dead or Alive" was alarmingly bad.

Not only was he not in pitch, not even close, but he was having serious problems even forming some of the words. Not trying to be insensitive, but on some of it, he sounded like he'd had, or was having, a stroke. I'm not kidding.

It was alarming in that clip. Wow.
