Posting History (24)

Our historic schedule indicates that we'll be at Scenic City this fall, but

our coaches and families were not happy with the field conditions at Heritage Park this summer. Not sure that they are willing to pull out yet, but we can connect as the decision is made and the tournament gets closer. Good luck!

We should be embarrassed. #2 team in both sports and we can't solution?

They could have asked Radford to borrow cameras in a pinch. With experiences like this, nobody should need to question why a recruit would go to another school over VT in the future.

How is every game NOT on ACC Network or ACCN Extra?

You can watch nearly every mid major game on ESPN+, but somehow the #2 team in the country is not available? Maybe we should have taken our chances on not joining the ACC years ago. This is a joke.

There are no "ump apologists" on this board.

There's a couple of you that think the world is against Tech (or Lemley), but that is not the case.
Most folks understand that this is something that needs to be addressed (and will be) to not impact the team any further.

Heading to the park now to work on pitching with my daughter. You are welcome to join us! ;)

Folks, this is not the first time she has been called for this. It will

only get worse on her and this team if it is not addressed. Have faith that it will be addressed. This is a tremendously talented team. We have three other great pitchers and a great coach. The risk of not addressing it yet has shown to not pay off, but it will all work out.

It sucks, but let's not whine. We had a great weekend and tons of momentum.

Every other NCAA pitcher is able to follow the rule. Have confidence that they will get it fixed. This is not the first setback this kid, team, or coaches had had and it won't be the last. They'll learn from it and come out stronger on the other side. That is the game and sports in general.

Kids read the boards, so let's take it easy.

She will have to address it and will be a better pitcher for it. Keep it positive. We have more quality pitchers on this current roster than we have had in a decade. Life is good, let's enjoy the ride!

Rules are evaluated/considered every year.

Not sure it would be called a "proposal," but that may just be semantics. Personally not looking for the rule to change because so many pitchers have no issue with the current rule. As a team/school, this is not the hill we should choose to die on. Make the investment in the kid and fix it. You take the whole kid when you sign them, warts and all. Gillis is good and will get it addressed.

The replant is where the pitcher gains the advantage.

Emma's foot goes up, but she does not push off again ("replant"). The replant is an advantage because you are that much closer to the plate and have the ability to continue driving the foot/leg.

Huge difference in that the spotlight is on the pitcher, so everyone will

look for it and call it. Hate it for the kid, but it is past time to fix it and put it in her past. It's no different than any other physical or mental impediment that has to be addressed. Most kids learn to address this when they are young. The kid is a tremendous talent, and she will be better for having overcome this.
