I found this analysis in the WSJ interesting.

Note that this is about 4 years old data from academic study of the Business Value of College Football programs.
The Top 3 ACC teams are Clemson, FSU and VT ranked 26-28. Lots of BIG 10 and SEC teams rated lower than these 3, ex - MD @51, Purdue @54, Kentucky @31, Miss State @35, Missouri @56, Vandy @61.
