This is what the federal govt has been asking the NCAA for.
All along the NCAA has said "the govt should intervene" or "we need a federal standard / regulation"...and the elected officials have said "you tell us what you want, give us a proposal". New leadership comes in to NCAA, goes to work on this and comes out with a major shift proposal and publishes it broadly. Yes, it will change but the framework of more $$ for student-athletes at high-level D1 and a greater rift between have/have-nots will happen. oddly, those two levels will still play each other....good-bye mid-major upsets. Any athlete with any proven talent at low/mid-major is already going in the portal to jump higher. Mid/Low level d1 will become a farm system until eventually they create their own boundaries that prevent the farm system from being as fluid as it is now.

In Dallas, need a good Hokie bar to watch the game in.
Not able to go to game live, but definitely want to enjoy some Hokie fans for the game here in Dallas. Any ideas?

P-2 w/24 teams each - who you have in and out?

SEC
Current 16 - LSU, Alabama, Auburn, Ole Miss, Mississippi St. Arkansas, Missouri, Texas A&M, Texas, Oklahoma, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Kentucky, Tennessee, Vanderbilt
Big 10 gets 8 more (in order): Notre Dame, Oregon, Washington, North Carolina, Virginia, Arizona, Stanford, Louisville
SEC gets 8 more (in order) Clemson, Florida St. NC State, Arizona St., VT, Oklahoma St., Baylor, Miami
Last four out: Pitt, Texas Tech, West Virginia, Colorado
Last four in: VT, Baylor, Miami, Louisville
New Big 10 - 4 divisions of 6
A - USC, UCLA, Stanford, Arizona, Oregon, Washington
B - North Carolina, Virginia, Louisville, Maryland, Rutgers, Penn St.

and yes, that's 8 ACC members moving which I think can dissolve the GOR and conference. Pac 12 and Big 12 members are easily able to be poached right now. Need to break ACC to make this happen.
Left out from current P-5 to P-2 (17):
Pitt, GT, Duke, BC, Wake, Syracuse, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas St., TCU, West Virginia, Cal, Colorado, Utah, Oregon St., Washington St.

Thanks for coming here.
I'm no softball expert or even knowledgable poster, but what I get from your post is trying to highlight problems that you see in our coach's approach. First, over-scheduling for sport success and hurting academic success. Second, a coach who is more loyal to self than loyal to school.
For the first one, I hear you, it can be a real problem, but it's also something that's not a surprise for the athletes coming in. They can see it just like you and I can. Our recruits have options and it's my sense that they know what they are signing on for here. You can prefer UVA program approach, but you stray too far to infer some system at VT behind "0 for natty" push without regards for ethics.
As for the Coach concern, you see and know more than I do, so again, i hear you. You may certainly be right. And VT has to make choices including risks on coaches that will be this way in order to elevate our programs (see Buzz Williams for a great example). As a VT fan, I'm used to the ups and downs of our Olympic sports and am excited by special years like this one with pitching talent that gives us a chance at something special. As a rival fan, it's a poor time to come here (yes you posted on Sabre first, but then you came here to chat) and say "yeah, but look your coach is a @#$%". Don't expect a great response and sorry for my Hokie friends that just fire back at you.
over-schedule, sure yeah, maybe, but it's producing results and is not a surprise to recruits. Coach selfish, yep, could be, and I'm fine with it. We don't have UVA pedigree, privilege, or pretention so enjoy your great facilities and athlete experience and we will enjoy ours as well.
Go Hokies!

ACC site has our 23-9 win posted twice....
Has us winning again today by same score line as yesterday...even has FSU with 5 losses in ACC standings.
Must be a Hokie coder somewhere behind the ACC site :)
