It was a tough night for the Blaze, but this made the evening special for me. This was the second game I attended this season and I was very impressed that the Blaze continues to have sellouts. The stadium was full. I really wish that Lemley hadn't put that last pitch down the middle for Wallace to hit her third homerun and have a perfect night of hitting. It was amazing to see what a great player she is.

I don't know if it was a sell out but there were a lot of people at the game. Karlyn Pickens pitched her first game and the the Blaze won in 5 innings. I see she had her second win today. They are looking good!

If you haven't watched Carleigh's interview on Liz Kitley's Bigger Deal podcast, I recommend it. Carleigh shares why she is staying at VT, her thoughts about nil in her case, and other fun stuff. We are very lucky to have had Carleigh on our team for all five years of her college career.

I just read on the On3 site that St. Rose is down to VT and notre dame. I hope we have enough resources to beat our nd. Go Hokies!

GT’s second game, which was against us, had more fans than the first. It still was a much smaller crowd than ours. It appeared that several students came to the second game, so they were pretty loud considering the small number. So far, I haven’t met any GT fans who have attended other games. Other fans who were in the floor seats were made up mostly of NC State and Louisville fans with a decent amount of Hokies and a few from the other Carolina schools.

I am happy that I have been able to attend the tournament. I am so proud of the way the Hokies represented us the past two days. They never gave up even though the baskets were not falling. Coach Duffy and the rest of the staff maintain poise in both games. In the game against UNC Coach Duffy never showed frustration or defeat, still showing us that this is a game that should be enjoyed. The city of Duluth did a great job of hosting the tournament. I don’t know the numbers but I don’t believe the crowd was as large as it has been in Greensboro, but it has been a fun experience. I talked with some Louisville fans and they said they were happy to only have to drive 5.5 hours, humbling considering that I griped about my 5 hour trip. On to the tournament- Go Hokies!

We were the home team yesterday; however, today we will be the visiting team. Others, like us, are scattered everywhere. I hope all Hokies who can will be there this evening when we play unc. There are lots of nc state fans and they will probably cheer for us, but we know how loud our Hokie fans can be! Go Hokies!

I have attended the ACC tournament in Greensboro for many years. I live in Raleigh so the location has been wonderful! I grumbled when I first found out the tournament would be in GA. so I decided I would not go. Then my daughter said she wanted for us both to go. She got the full ticket package for us-food, free parking, etc. She is a tarheel which is fine until our second game. Good thing I'm bringing an extra t-shirt for her for game 3! Go Hokies!

I have been to home games at both UNC and NC State this year. My older daughter is a Unc grad and has season tickets. My younger daughter is an NC State grad and works there. This is the product of raising my children in central North Carolina. I have been much more impressed with State's play this season and expected them to win easily, especially at home on Play4Kay night. Meanwhile, Unc has lost by 20 against ND and also lost against Stanford at home. Their home games are not very exciting because the fans don't show enough passion for the team. Also, in tarheel fashion, they believe that the song Sweet Caroline was written for them so when the song is played they finally get excited, kind of laughable compared to Enter Sandman. Meanwhile, the atmosphere at Reynolds Coliseum is unbelievable with very loud and passionate fans no matter who they are playing. Unc played the best game I have seen from them this year, but I still believe we have a decent chance of beating them. Grant is a good 3 point shooter and Toomey is very strong and a great rebounder. They also have a couple of veteran players who can be great at times, but not like players in the past. NC State also can be beat. They have good guards but VT better defensively. Trygger is a very good center who also has developed a 3 point shot, but our players have played great defense in the middle lately. Also, the other players don't pass to her as often as they should. Pierre is their best scoring player and is my biggest concern. We have to get many rebounds and limit their fast breaks, which we can do. This will be a challenging week for us, but we are playing with great passion and teams aren't taking us lightly anymore. I know we can beat ND, but on their home court I tend to see a lot of questionable aggressive plays that are allowed for their players. I generally don't question refs because I know that it is impossible to call a perfect game, but I hope they like maroon and orange as much as they like green on Thursday. Go Hokies!

I have 2 two reserved tickets to give away for tomorrow's game, section 104 row F. I would rather give them away to a fellow Hokie than sell them for a few dollars on Seatgeek. Winston-Salem is less than 2 hours travel time for me, but I am not willing to risk getting stuck there. I wonder what weather report the decision is being based on. for Duke during two winter breaks because his best friend's mom went to Duke. He ended up playing for a VT/Duke basketball game and had to wear Duke colors while playing. He wore a VT shirt underneath and switched to VT colors at the end of the game. I was proud of him for displaying Hokie Pride even though VT lost.

Wnen Sophie is on the court it seems that she makes some unnecessary errors and ends up back on the bench right away. I trust the coaches to make the best choices, but at yesterday's game I watched the same mistakes over and over from all of our players. It was very tough for them to find success against Duke's defense. We were sitting close to the floor during pregame warmups and Sophie made the majority of her shots from behind the line. Maybe she could have made shots during the game, but as the old line says, "coulda, shoulda, woulda" What I do know is that we have a great coaching staff who knows the game much better that me, and also that Duke's previous losses did not mean that they aren't a super-talented team. And now, on to the next game, Go Hokies!

since we must travel a good distance for the games; however, when we do make it to the games we buy tickets on SeatGeek to get low enough to not have to travel up the stairs, which is tough due to knee problems. I think it is great that so many people support the team with season ticket purchases; however, I wish they would be willing to sell them to those of us who do not have access to the lower level seats.

I will be interested to see how the attendance compares with this season's location with past seasons. In Greensboro, along with the fans from the schools, local citizens attend the tourney. They speak with pride about the number of years they have attended the ACC tourneys. We currently hear rumblings of the fate of the ACC. It would be great to keep the long-standing traditions alive while we can. Btw, I do not live in Greensboro, but like many ACC fans, I can travel there by car within a few hours. I briefly considered signing up for the tickets, but when I saw that I would have to rent a car and then drive another hour from Atlanta, I gave up on that idea. Both Charlotte and Greensboro offer convenient airports for teams that are flying in. There may be other cities that also offer this convenience, possibly a neutral site in South Carolina or Virginia (Greenville?, Richmond?) If, by chance the Hokies make it to the semi-final/final games, I will likely buy tickets from a resale venue-very costly, but I don't think I can stay away from those games! Go Hokies!

When watching games and post-game interviews during Brook's last season, there were comments and coaching decisions made that did not seem quite right; however, KB usually presented a calm, caring demeanor, so I thought maybe it was just my Mom/Teacher senses that made me overly sensitive. I am so sorry that this went on at VT. Our past winning seasons were fun; however, it feels a bit tainted now that I know of the coaching staff's behaviors.

sell when tickets not in use? I see discussion below of someone willing to share tickets when not in use and that's wonderful. There are others of us who would also like the opportunity to connect with someone who might have tickets available at times. I know there is at least one facebook site; however, it gets much more football traffic than WBB traffic. On SeatGeek, the fees are sometimes 3 times more than the asking price for the ticket. Also, it would look much better on tv when the seats are filled. I don't know of a real solution, but it sure would be nice to support the team without so many obstacles. Btw, my selection date was one day beyond available tickets. Go Hokies!

I finally get to see the team live this season! NC State has a good home record, only 3 losses at home. I hope that number is doubled by Sunday. It will be very warm in Raleigh, high 80s are predicted at game time this evening. Perfect conditions for great softball! Let's Go Hokies!

Btw, Chip, tickets for NC State are $11 per ticket on Gopack.com for the upcoming series. I plan on being there this weekend to support the team. I think it is the only time they play in the NC triangle area this season. We had thought about making arrangements to visit Blacksburg for the Florida State series; however, we are concerned that we might not be able to get seats inside the softball stadium. If tickets were sold then we would know that we could sit inside-another reason to sell tickets! Go Hokies!

I will be in Greensboro on Thursday to cheer on the team; however, this year I was very disappointed with the ticket process. In past years, when the tournament has been in Greensboro I have purchased the general admission ticket package that included all of the sessions. This option was not available this year unless I missed it. The only options I ever saw were very pricey packages for decent reserved seating tickets or somewhat pricey packages for the less desirable seating. Even at these prices, the available tickets were limited, so I am curious to see how full the stands are. It is sad that Greensboro no longer values those of us who live close by and want to support the ACC but can't afford the premium price tag. I will miss hanging out and watching all of the games this year. Meanwhile, I plan on being at every game that Virginia Tech plays-Go Hokies!

I was at the game last night and it was so exciting! Our team played hard and made it difficult for unc. The defense that was played against Utsby, mainly by Baker, was visibly frustrating her and as a result she made a couple of unnecessary fouls. Also, our team kept Gakdeng in check. I saw posts about the refs and I agree that there were some questionable calls and no-calls, but I expected this. The refs weren't responsible for the loss, instead it was the fact that we didn't make enough of our shots to overcome a top team on their home court. If we get another chance in the ACC tournament on a neutral court, I think we can win. I was also glad to see a good showing of Hokies in the stands! The crowd was smaller than last year, but considering the fact that this was a midweek game, I believe we let the unc fans know that we will travel to support our team. Go Hokies!

Even today, I never heard the score mentioned during the brief women's basketball coverage in the first hour. When Rose made the triple-double and player of the week neither event was mentioned. Our players are so good at team play that our very talented individuals are not being highlighted. We do get a bit more attention on the Thursday evening show. Maybe we have Muffet McGraw to thank for that attention.

consider themselves North Carolinians. They will cheer for VT as long as it doesn't affect their schools. The same goes for my husband and me concerning their schools. We have spent a lot a money over the years for NC tuition (we have 4 kids); however, it is Virginia Tech who gets the donations! We have season tickets to WBB and travel as often as possible, but it is nice to see some games that are pretty close by as long as the ACC doesn't fall apart.

North Carolina this season, the Ally Tournament, Duke, and NC State. Unfortunately, we didn't get the win in any of those games, but I am not giving up! I will be at Carmichael Arena on Thursday to cheer the team on. This game and the Cal game are the last two regular season games I am able to attend, wins would be wonderful in both! I have already had to hear sympathy from my child who is an NC State student. I don't want to hear the same from my child who is a Unc grad. Go Hokies!

During the warmups I was concerned and surprised that so many shots were not going in. Of course, this does not usually mean anything during the game, but today it did. NC State got off to a great start and our team could not find an answer offensively or defensively. Also, we were sitting very close to the court and it appeared that the game was not being called consistently for both teams. I am not making excuses for our team, I am just saying that this was another area that they were unable to overcome. We plan on rewatching the game later to see if our observations were correct. NC State had a great game offensively. We did not have the tools today to meet this challenge. I was still proud of how hard the team played. They will learn from today's game and be better next time. Maybe it won't be enough, but I know they will continue to give all they have. I was proud of the character they showed today! Go Hokies!

There are good tickets available on Seatgeek for Sunday's game at NC State. Prices are lower than they were last year so we decided to go. I guess we aren't considered as big of a game as we were in past years. The last game that NC State lost at home was against our team last year. I think they are due for another upset! I am curious what site you use to buy or sell tickets. I have used the Facebook site (buy/sell VT football/basketball) to buy a football parking pass before; however, I do not see much traffic for basketball tickets. I have GA WBB season tickets and earlier in the season I listed tickets for some games just to get rid of them at a price much lower than general admission at the door. Because I live out of town, I cannot get to every home game. Now I just let the tickets go unused even though I would have preferred to give them away instead of wasting them. I currently have tickets for the Louisville game listed on an online retailer. I have used this site successfully to sell tickets in my area-I live in Raleigh and extra tickets to NC State WBB always sell. I am not an NC State fan, but I have to buy ticket four packs to get VT tickets if I want to attend the game. I don't find the same success when trying to sell VT tickets. Our arena is much bigger and tickets are more readily available. Is there another site where people are successfully selling or giving away tickets? Thanks for reading!

I was told that the bobble heads would be given at the game. I questioned this because I have season tickets. Since this is the case, I wonder if the bobble heads are given to the ticket holders who attend the game, not the original purchasers.

I attend games at Cassell as often as possible; however, I also attend ACC games close to my home in North Carolina. Here are the prices I have paid this season: VT vs. Duke, $28 for reserved seating. Duke also had $22 for ga, but this is also the student section. VT vs. UNC, $10 for ga, all tickets are ga. Recently, I went back to the site to purchase another ticket and the price has gone up to $15. Also, they charge more for weekend games and big rivalry games, $20. I saw UNC vs. UConn at the Greensboro Coliseum and the tickets were only $25 plus ticketmaster fees. Wake Forest was $10 last year. I don't think that has changed, very poor attendance. My thoughts with this are that VT could raise single game tickets a bit; however, many families attend now and VT should not make it cost prohibitive. When my children were young we took them to Sunday afternoon games. It was fun and and reasonably priced. Also, I think they should restructure season ticket pricing. I bought general admission season tickets this year. I can't go often, but I love supporting the team at Cassell. I would prefer reserved seating and it would be great if the upper levels offered the seating at a lower price than they are currently charging for the reserved seating at the lower levels. They could charge more than the current $80 per ticket for general admission. Many fans were not able to get reserved seating this year and would probably be more inclined to get season tickets again with more options.

year's game at Duke. I knew our team was in for a challenge. CMD subbed players in and out, trying to find the best attack against the other team. She was involved in each player's moves, successful or not, and was quick to try to "plug the holes". There were questionable calls and no calls from the refs as there are in all games, and it appeared that CMD has instilled in her players that the coaching staff will deal with the refs, not the players. There were positive adjustments made during halftime and the team played much better when they returned to the court-this always impresses me with CMD! Last year I left the game feeling that our team had no answers for the game Duke played, especially after Amoore was hurt. This year, I felt that CMD never stopped adjusting the game plan, but unfortunately it was not enough to beat Duke on their homecourt. Still, I left the game feeling that we are winning with our new coach. She exceeds my expectations with each game! Thank you Coach Duffy-Go Hokies!

I plan on going to Duke tomorrow to watch our Lady Hokies in their first ACC game. We have already played two ranked teams this year and the Hokies played tough in both of those games. Playing at Cameron Indoor will be a big challenge! I am looking forward to seeing what they can do against Duke. Go Hokies!

I went to Monday's game as well and had considered moving down, but I decided that I would save my trip down the steps to the end. It would be nice if the reserved seat holders would offer their tickets for a reasonable fee on the Facebook site if they are not going to a game, a better deal for seller and buyer!

I feel the frustration of those who have been bumped to general admission. I purchased tickets this year hoping to get reserved seating, bit I also ended up in general admission seats. I do donate, but since I choose to fund other areas at VT, my athletic donations are not huge. My "selection" time is this afternoon. I am seeing posts from people who should have received times much earlier than me. The last time we had season tickets to any sport was during the Michael Vick era when we had season football tickets. We moved out of state after that and had small children, so we gave those tickets up. I have always supported the women's basketball team, but been content to see them here in North Carolina with an occasional trip to Blacksburg. I am happy to see the support that has grown over the years! Now that I am retired, I figured I would get season tickets and try to get to Blacksburg as often as possible. I knew I wouldn't get wonderful seats; however, with the addition of more reserved seating, as well as having a seIection time, I thought I would at least be guaranteed reserved seats somewhere so I wouldn't have to stand in lines for so long-not so much fun since I am now older! I will call and select the seats, but I think that my planned trips Blacksburg have now decreased. I like seeing the long lines but I don't want to stand in them! For those of you who have been there to support the team, thank you! I hope you will continue to do so. I am sorry that you got bumped to general admission. I would prefer to see you in those seats than seeing a bunch of empty seats from those who can afford that choice. It does not look good when I watch a team on tv that has empty seats close to the court. Let's hope that the VT ticket office also sees this as a problem and allows general admission holders to fill the lower seats for games! Go Hokies!
