What current PSU players will follow him?
Or is that one of those things that PSU won’t allow via non solicitation agreements between schools. If I were PSU I’d put a clause that prevents poaching. But admittedly have no clue if that’s allowed within NCAA rules

What’s our HC philosophy?
Just curious where folks think BOV and search committee are:
-Hire Big name coach with on a losing trend (Franklin, Shane, dabo, Napier, Mullen etc)
Or
-Up and comer with little/no P4 (Chesney etc)
Or
-Figure out NIL world by hiring AD and GM first…coach to follow
Obviously all of the above needs to be good at assembling and disassembling 1 yr rosters and be an expert program in managing NIL

…right now. Need a few more years to see who has figured out the 1 and done transfer portal game.

Said this a few weeks ago. Desperate times call for desperate measures and serious introspection. Vick put us on the national map…leverage that. He can be HC in name only. None of this makes sense…but this is CFB these days. Outside of the top programs the rest of CFB is going to have to make big bets…he’s all we have imo.

Fire Pry. Roll the dice on Vick…
None of this makes sense I know but neither does college football right now and we’re at risk of irrelevancy.
It’s all about butts in seats, hype, recruiting, and eyeballs. Vick would deliver that (even though his personality is lacking imo compared to a Deon). Put good X and O guys around him and let them cook. Vick can be a figure head (think late Bobby Bowden and late Beamer).
Vick would own the 757 recruiting scene and think the buzz would be real and provide a bump.

Wide gap from Young to Pry
Young has demonstrated he can coach with little talent. Pry has never shown any results. I’d invest in Young and part ways with Pry (and Whit).

Blow it up..
No. The “others” will never be able to compete with bigs so abandon all that and just go for fan experience with regional conferences (VT, JMU, UVA, ODU, ECU, NC State, etc). I would argue the tailgates and rivalries would be better than today’s and drive more $$ to the schools than one might think. Take it back to the old days is my vote for the future of schools like VT.

Great idea. If Whit was a good AD he’d get in touch with Brian Slingerland, Tech’s wealthiest alum. Would think he and biotech companies would have cash to sponsor and Tech would benefit from STEM branding. Let’s start with our own billionaire.

All optics right now…
Bellichick hire is both coach and an optics hire. Schools are scrambling to figure how to attract recruits and play the NIL game. If they’re not going to fire Whit and Pry, tech needs to play the. game. We are fortunate to have a bevy of NFL stars that we could leverage right now. Should form a players advisory council of Vick, Bruce, and Tyrod. Dell Curry on the bball side. Go public and run a bunch of press about it.

Disagree. A couple really bad seasons and their fan base will call firing
CFB these days. Coaches stock is has massive volatility
