In my opinion, Baker is a bigger loss than you imply.

She was arguably our best/most well-rounded player. Carleigh is great too and thank God we kept her. Hopefully Hurst will eventually be good. But Baker will really be missed next year. She was a scorer, rebounder, and a team leader. I agree with your other points but really hated to see Carys leave.

Wally is a nice guy who remained here after his time at Tech

I had him in a class I was teaching at VT in the 1980s. He stayed here locally and ran a propane business is Radford until he sold it a couple of years ago. I don't know what he is doing now.

It was a very exciting game to watch after the first 15 minutes.

The team played their hearts out and Coach Young did a great job of juggling the lineup. Elon had two very good players.

My wife and I went

Great event: a lot of enthusiasm displayed. Fun to meet the coaches and new players and to have a chance to thank the returning players for staying. Meghan Williams did a nice job in organizing it.

What if she came to VT and redshirted?

If we indeed offered her for 2025, I don't see why that wouldn't make sense.

You say Nickel will struggle more guarding a 4 than a 3.

Small forwards are often quicker than power forwards so might it not be the other way around?

When I toggle it says: "Sorry we don 't have any accessible

seating available at the moment." And it gave that same message earlier. Also the phone never answers, but I will try again tomorrow. Thanks for trying to help.

Frustrating. We need wheelchair seating and it appears no way to purchase

wheelchair seating on the website (and no number to call right now except one for the Charlotte Hornets from 10-2 on Friday).

How much of a role can we expect Nichols to play next year?

I noticed that he was not mentioned at all in the rotation for next year. How many minutes can we expect from him at the 3 and 4 positions? Will his lack of knowledge of Mike Young's defensive system keep him on the bench?

We must develop a strong rotation of at least eight and hopefully nine

players that we have confidence in to use regularly after mid-season. Otherwise, we will suffer the same fate that we did against LSU and lose due to lack of depth. Playing only 7 players gets you blown out in the fourth quarter against the top, especially physical teams. I bet Kenny Brooks will work hard to see that it does not happen again. Obviously, part of the problem this past season was Owusu not working out as anticipated, but hopefully next season, at least three of the new freshmen will give us the needed depth. Apparently last season, most the non-redshirting players on the bench were not skilled enough to bring them along. I was a little surprised that Dunn was not good enough to develop, but Brooks must know what he is doing.

Her finger may still be an issue.

After she came out of the game in the first quarter, she had her pinkie and the one next to it taped together and did not go back in the game.

I was hoping to see Dunn play as well, but Geiman is the better defender,

especially in a tight game. If Dunn could defend just a little better, she would get the nod.

Are you positive which time is correct?

It would seem to be incredibly irresponsible to have the wrong time on the ticket.

Why is NC State and Pit given the best days (Tues & Wed) for pool play?

Teams that play on Tuesday and Wed (Pitt and NC state) can use their number 1 and 2 pitchers twice in the week if they win their pools, while VT (# 1 seed) plays on Thursday and Friday and can only use its best two pitchers once each. Seems odd to give the biggest advantage to the lower seeds. I wonder why they do that? What am I missing?

Oakland outfielder Chad Pinder pitched for the A's today. Surprised?

Not surprisingly, he did not do so well. I remember him hitting for the Hokies, but do not remember him pitching.
