Am I the only one a little disappointed in the match effort so far?
Weβve been stuck on $38k. I know wrestling is not a revenue sport, but when the program gets a one million dollar injection you know it will keep moving in the right direction. Now more than ever you will know your donation will have an impact on a future national championship contender.

Saw it discussed below, but still not clear on the total donation. Is itβ¦
A) $1 Million + Additional fan donations
OR
B) $1 Million + Additional fan donations x 2 (i.e. an βadditional matchβ)
I thought it was A, but other comments have me in doubt a bit.

Dad, Wicomico Church. Mom, Ditchley
I grew up in Richmond but would visit often to see grandparents, aunts, and uncles. Mom and Dad moved back after he retired. Built a nice home off Dividing Creek. Dad passed away last year.

Mr. Worsham grew up in the Northern Neck with my dad.
They were friends. I remember as a kid wearing a camouflage "WesWay Sprinkler System" hat (I might have the exact business name wrong). Wes gave to the Hokies long before their football growth.
As a Virginia Tech student I got sit with Mr. Worsham a time or two in his booth for a game - the old press box. I remember when our kicker was having a bad season. Mr. Worsham told me, "You know our kicker tried to kill himself?" I was shocked and told him no. He then said with a grin, "he had a rope around his neck and tried to kick the chair out from underneath but missed it three times."
I trust that my dad was there to welcome his friend Home.

After a coach is fired/leaves this perspective from old team is expected
If a team is doing poorly, there is no way the culture is good.
If a team starts doing better for any reason after a coaching changes made, without question, the culture improves.
When given the chance to speak freely after a coach is gone, both players and fans speak more openly. And fans will undoubtably point out behavior they donβt like. See Coach Brooks as an example.
Bottom line is many fans hate what hurts their team, but is okay with the same actions if it helps them.

No offense, but whatβs the advantage of posting this message?
If you donβt want to subscribe, donβt. Whatβs the point in your message?
Will is a small business covering Hokie sports for decades. As a person who has posted over 10,000 times on this site, you clearly seem to enjoy it. So why post a message that potentially impacts the revenue stream for Will and the long term success of the site?

What school who fired their coach isnβt a fixer upper?
If a team was doing well and in great shape, they wouldnβt have a head coach vacancy.

Saw some flashes of old Hokie football tonight
I know winning cures all problems, but was glad to see us successfully run the ball with one primary back and as a team have real emotion and passion.

Hokies are 1-3. Played to a half empty stadium, and you choose to mock UVA
Would rather focus on getting our crap together than worrying about UVA.

You must have missed the VT v. ND doubleheader coverage in Blacksburg
Was saying how easy it is to use a single camera and radio broadcast to cover a game for the times when the softball team gets shut out of TV. . . like the football spring game scrimmage weekend.

Iβm not sure her persona is the problem
She (like thousands of college athletes) transferred to another school. She graduated, and is one of the best to ever play the game for us.
When she transferred, many fans lost their minds and reacted like a high school kid whose girlfriend just broke up with them and suddenly started trashing her.
If she was just an average player people would have hardly noticed. You can see it happening today when weβve had players transfer out this month and theyβve largely been wished well and told βyouβre always a Hokie.β Fans only cared because she was great.
If people donβt like transfers, itβs time to find a new hobby other than watching college sports. While I donβt like the NIL world we live in now, throwing venom at college kids seems childish and misplaced. The rules are broken, the athletes are only using them as designed.

Amazing how small private schools and high schools can afford the $100k it
takes to sell tickets to their sporting events. (tic)

In 2016 Tulsa ranked 4th with 526 yards per game. Over the next 6 years
their offensive rank averaged -52nd with 413 yards per game. I suppose change is good, but not certain how this translates to βone of the most respected offensive minds in college footballβ
For comparison VT averaged ~390 yards over the same time span, so it does show improvement.
Iβll still root for the Hokies no matter what, but the excitement from a football hire has left me years ago.

Pry has done no better than Beamer with recruiting. Difference is Frank
and his staff could develop talent and coach.

Yet Hokie fans were hoping Marquetteβs Liza Karlen would follow Duffy to VT
and that would have been just fine.
It sucks, but itβs part of the game now. Canβt root for it when it helps and complain when it hurts.

Oh dear lord. One replay failure doesnβt make us 5-4. Itβs poor coaching.
That play matters less and less every week and did not impact todays failure.

And should have called time out with Cuse driving to have more time.
Syracuse had three time outs. The clock was not THEIR enemy. . . It was OURS if we allowed them to score.

ESPN: βSEC Pulls off three top 10 upsets in one dayβ
While not a real headline, you know they will spin it this way to show the depth of the 16 team conference.
