Teams have obviously watched film and know where he likes to get the ball..
so defenses are making him shoot from places that he's not as comfortable and on the move instead of catching off of a screen with an open look. Shooting percentages go down when the shots are contested and not where players are most comfortable.

Unfortunately the Providence game set an unrealistic expectation that is
hard to overcome. He has the potential to have those kinds of games on a regular basis but needs to work on a few things before he'll do it against good competition. In my opinion, he needs to get stronger but also seems out of synch with the other players a lot so he'd benefit from practicing with the same guys as a group in the off-season. The US college game is different from what he is used to playing in Europe and he hasn't adjusted well.

Tell him to protect the ball better and go to the rim to get in the flow
of the game. I think he just needs to see a few balls go through the rim when attacking the basket to give him a better feel for his perimeter shot. He's 6'9" but doesn't play like it. His biggest issue other than not making shots is throwing the ball away too much.

IMO he's playing better this year than last year.
I don't know much about his background but he seems like someone who is a great athlete but not a natural at playing basketball.

There should have been someone coming to help on that play to contest the
shot. It should not be a one on one play with that amount of time on the clock because he's not going to pass to another shooter.

A big man should have been at the 3pt line ready for that. Looked like they
drifted away from the play guarding their guys under the basket but should've been going to the ball to get a hand up in front of the shooter.

Ohio St. is the one common opponent and Miami had a more impressive win.
Nobody knows who will win until they play the game but I think Miami has the advantage if this is a tight low scoring game like I believe it will be.

I'm going to the Cal game on Saturday. The last game I attended at Cassell
featured a guy named Bimbo Coles so it's been a while.
Hoping for a big crowd that can get loud and help this team get over the hump and win again.

The make % goes up tremendously when the shots are not contested. We should
be guarding the 3-point line and giving them the mid-range shot with that lead because making 3s is the only way they can win. That was just bad defense.
