On Maui, we stayed at a VRBO at Papakea Resort, which was very nice.

In addition to the above, I would also recommend a drive up Haleakala at sunrise.

I did the Diamante zip line in CR, my buddy next to me didn't have enough

speed to make it to the first platform, and rolled back out in the middle. He was hanging 900' above the ground for about an hour while the workers rescued him.

Martinsville was actually AAA when the new divisions were formed, but they

lost a lot of students and moved down a few years later. The AAA Western District had 14 teams in my senior year, 1971, going all the way form RE Lee of Staunton to Halifax County. Martinsville was in that district.

Failed to mention, there is or was a perfume factory in St. Georges my

Wife really liked. They made a blend especially for her, and she continued ordering it for years. Something for the wifey

Spent a week on Bermuda about 20 years ago. It is a nice place, very

Expensive, small island, only takes about 45 minutes to go from one end to the other. There is, or was a really good Irish pub on Hamilton called Flanagans. Also if you have a chance to stop at the Swizzle Inn, it is a really neat old bar, restaurant mid-island.

Nice looking car, but too many miles. I had a 2002 Carrera 4 Cabriolet

with a six speed manual. It was a ball to drive, but when I had to put new "shocks" to raise and lower the top at $1,000 each, I thought it was probably time to sell it.

I think a lot depends on what you buy. My wife and I travel quite a bit

and always purchase travel insurance through our travel agent. Three years ago, we had planned a trip to Tahiti, and had paid out over $20,000 when she was diagnosed with advanced breast cancer, and needed to start treatment right away. It took some time, but we were reimbursed for nearly every penny by the travel insurance.

I put in tankless, lp gas, a couple of years ago. I like it, but it

still takes the same amount of time to get hot water in the back of the house.

My wife and daughter attended the first two or three years when Beamer

started it, don't remember the year, but I would guess early 2000's. They had a great time!

My 2001 S2000 was a nice looking car, scary though, the back end was so

light, it would break loose very easily, almost crashed several times, figured I had better sell it before I killed myself.

Should be a great show. I was going to try for tickets in Charlotte, but

didn't want to have to mortgage my house to purchase them. I did see them in Greensboro many years ago, when Glenn Fry was still around, and it was a great show.

As an independent insurance agent writing business on SML for more than 40

years, we rarely run into a situation in which flood insurance is required. What usually happens is a corner of the home, or a deck, or an attached walk way leading to the lake is in a high risk flood zone, and the mortgage companies consider the entire structure to be in the flood zone. Often times, a property owner can obtain an elevation certificate from a surveyor showing the home is out of the flood zone, and the mortgage company will wave the requirement. The water level at SML stays pretty steady at 795 feet above sea level. If it rises to 800 feet, it goes over the dam.

I've been at my job for 46.5 years, and while I could retire, I don't want

to. I work with the public every day, and enjoy the interaction. I've also worked with my son for the past 22 years, and that is a major plus.

Saw The Earl Scruggs Review at Cassell sometime in the early 70's,

don't remember the year, but it was a great show, has sons Gary & Randy with him.

Actually there are two public courses, Copper Cove on the Franklin County

side, and Mariners Landing on the Bedford County side. They are both fairly nice courses. Copper Cove is short, and tight, great fairways, and OK greens. Mariner's is longer, and more holes on the lake, fairways, and greens are OK. You will generally find Mariners is a little less expensive than Copper Cove. If you want to travel a little further towards Lynchburg, London Downs is a nice course, and open to the public.

There are a lot of factors that go into umbrella rating including location,

number of vehicles, ages of drivers, driving records, number of residences, recreational vehicles such as boats, motorcycles, golf carts, etc. As an independent agent for 46 years, I have seen quite a few umbrella claims, and they can be particularly nasty. We recommend umbrella liability to all of our customers.

I've always named mine after TV characters, for example my first Dachshund

was named Chester, after the yappy dog in the Tom & Jerry cartoon. My next two Dachshunds were twin girls, and I named them Skippy and Daphne after the "fun girls" on the Andy Griffith show.

The Coves is a natural open air amphitheater. You can bring your lawn

chairs blankets, or whatever you want to sit on. The stage is at the bottom of the hill, and the acoustics are very good. It is not right on the lake, but you can see the lake. I have been there several times, and really enjoy the venue, however the roads leading in are narrow, country roads, and you can get some back up. There are concessions at the top of the hill, beer, wine, etc, and Buddy's BBQ normally has their food truck there. The only toilets are port o potties, unless some new ones have been installed during the off season.

Saw them in Roanoke many years ago, Lowell George was already gone, but

they put on a great show. Waiting for Columbus is one of my all time favorite albums.

Good friends just sold their home near SML, not on the lake but near, very

nice home, had two offers within 7 hours of listing, sold it at $30,000 over the listing price.
