Robert Porcher IV added his name to the list of Virginia Tech commitments on Monday, giving the Hokies four commitments since Friday.
Porcher is a 3-star defensive lineman from Orlando, FL. The 6-foot-3, 245-pound prospect was originally committed to Nebraska, but decommitted on Dec. 12. Porcher took an official visit to Michigan State over the Jan. 13 weekend and visited Blacksburg this weekend. Overall, Porcher has 35 scholarship offers, including schools like Georgia Tech, Michigan, California, Louisville, Mississippi State, NC State and Syracuse.
The Hokies have been quite successful in recent days, hauling in commitments from Devon Hunter, Bryce Watts and Dylan Rivers, who flipped from Penn State. Both Hunter and Rivers are 4-star recruits.
Virginia Tech now has two defensive ends committed for the Class of 2017. Porcher will join Nathan Proctor at that position. There is a chance that Porcher could bulk up and move inside to tackle, but that remains to be seen. The Hokies are still pursuing other defensive linemen, including Tyjuan Garbutt, Zion DeBose and Brad Johnson.
