   I like the intersectional games. VT/TN is a natural rivalry.

   Tn & VT drop Washington & Arizona and broker a deal for those 2 to play each other 2029-30 while Hokies-Vols go Home & Home

   Can't stand having nd on the schedule - sure wish it was possible to get rid of them. Would much rather play Tennessee than nd any day.

   Thanks Chris, this stuff makes the Enigma look like a play toy. In my opinion, no to AZ, BYU. Play more regional games. I would also love to see VT play one of the service academy teams each year for the non P4 game. The tie in with the Corps would be incredible.

   Man, i thought i was going crazy...i read these as "Maryland @ Arizona" LOL • 2029: Maryland, at Arizona • 2030: Arizona, at BYU • 2032: vs. Ole Miss, at Wisconsin • 2033: BYU, at Notre Dame I am calm now

   It’s hard to put much stock in any schedule beyond 2028 or 2029. There’s a good probability there will be more conference realignment around that time or shortly thereafter. The ACC might look much different, if it exists at all. Tech might be in one of the other P4 conferences or a Super League by 2030 or so.

      T. Guru, Well put. Most of us and even CJF & Ad. White have no idea what the NCAA football leagues look like down the road. The B-10 & SEC are the "levers" and what those decide will probably be the results. All the rest of college football, IMO, will be Tier 2--Whatever that is. GO HOKIES, Win 7 or more games this season.

    "or whatever entity that ends up controlling college sports" <-- ha ha, but 'yes please.' it's no secret that i'm no longer a fan of the ncaa; so their demise would not ruffle my feathers - presuming that the "new organization" does pretty much everything differently. and, of course that cannot be guaranteed with greedy's like the b10, $ec, b12, and even the mEaGOr acc still around. great article exposing the tangled football scheduling matrix the ncaa has birthed and continues to tweak for their own (ncaa+their favs) fortune$. your 30,000 foot and on-terra firma views spotlight the mess with which AD Brian White and other AD's are faced. quite a juggling circus with so many different existing games scheduled, colleges, standards, rules, $$$, coaches' preferences, make-the-playoffs-or-bust threats, etc, etc. choking progress. go Hokies!

       I'm in favor of an ACC BIG 12 merger NFL style. It would put that California teams back where they belong. VT would be in the Appalachian Division with Pitt, WVU, Louisville, and Cincinnati. and play a rotating division plus UVA each year non conference unless they are in the rotating division, that year schedule any P4. Done.
