   I might add that many college baseball stadiums in the ACC and SEC look a bit like major league baseball stadiums. English field is just OK. Probably not helpful in recruiting.

   My Lottery picks: Burner phones - cancel my phone House w/ river frontage on S. Fork Holston River, TN (trout fishing) - Primary home Cottage near Last Chance, ID (Henry's Fork for great trout fishing on the RR Ranch), - severally visits per year after Memorial Day rush thru early October, also fish Montana, Wyoming & Utah Cottage on Andros Island, Bahamas (great bonefishing) Spring, miss hurricane season. Condo in NoVa (for the wife, she's a city gal, I'm not a city guy, I'd visit rarely) Season tix in Busch Stadium, finally visit Wrigley after Cards complete rebuild Fly fish the world to catch the fish I've not yet caught And, of course, major donation(s) to Tech and season tix in Lane

   I wonder what Coach Cav would think about today’s college football environment - if he was worried about 7-on-7 and exclusive camps I suspect NIL, tampering, multiple transfers, and never-ending recruiting cycle would drive him crazy. The game is transactional now, seems like relationships don’t matter much when money is involved.

   Cassell is a relic and has been for decades. I was at a vcu game decades ago in the crappy Richmond coliseum that had some sort of exclusive “golden ram” lounge with beer and liquor. I’m sure they got a premium price for access to that. People will pay for the upgrade. You would think VT would recognize that.

   Chris- if you hadn't heard, the baseball stadium is no longer Atlantic Union Bank Park, it's just English Field. The sponsorship has apparently expired and was not renewed. So, baseball is back looking for a stadium sponsor.

   The hokies need a national championship in something. Whit needs to dump money into wrestling or women’s softball so we can be champions of something. Obviously not men’s basketball but maybe women’s basketball.

      Only spend extra on sports that are profitable. The rest is irrelevant.

         I wouldn't call sports that are in the top 10 programs nationally irrelevant. If we were to apply that logic, VT should only have a football program. Every single other VT sports program would be terminated.

    Since you mentioned Coach Cav. I happened to sit beside him at a basketball game many years ago. My Dad and two of my siblings went to W&M so I chatted him up about his playing days there. He played for Marv Levy and he couldn't say enough good things about Levy. You could tell he had a tremendous respect for Coach Levy. Levy left and Lou Holtz came it. He despised Holtz, in the colorful way only Cav could let it fly
