In November 2024, Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia sued the NCAA in a U.S. District Court in Tennessee for another year of eligibility. He said the rule that junior college seasons count towards his overall years of NCAA eligibility â defined as having five years to play four â was a violation of antitrust law that unfairly limited his ability to make money off his name, image and likeness. JUCO schools are governed by the NJCAA, which is separate from the NCAA.
