The first time I ever set foot in Cassell Coliseum for a Virginia Tech basketball game was on Saturday, February 17, 1996, for the No. 10 Hokies vs. No. 1 UMass. This past Saturday’s game against Florida State — 30 years later, almost to the day — was my “anniversary,” I guess you could say. And what an anniversary it turned out to be. Birthdays and anniversaries. Maybe I should start skipping those games altogether.
