- We’re not writing an article for every single VT player that enters the transfer portal. We’re doing an article for the main guys, but not for the guys who weren’t playing. However, we’re entering them into the roster management page, which you should bookmark and check daily.
- Virginia Tech will have more players enter the transfer portal. More on that a few lines down.
- The Hokies’ pursuit of some players will go unreported until the player randomly commits. For example, Oklahoma offensive tackle Logan Howland. Don’t ever expect to have a full picture of what is going on.
- Part of this article could be out of date by the time you read it. That’s par for the course during the transfer portal.

Before we dig into the offense, I want to paint a picture using the overall roster numbers. Here’s what we’ve got for the scholarship players:
- Offense: 48
- Defense: 47
- Specialists: 4
- Total: 99
Remember, the roster limit is 105. By my count, Virginia Tech currently has 16 walk-ons listed on its roster on HokieSports.com, meaning the current overall number for the roster is 115.
