James Franklin helped sign a good offensive recruiting class for Virginia Tech, and it's a strong bet that Fontel Mines stays with him. (Ivan Morozov)
Virginia Tech signed a player for almost every offensive position in the 2026 recruiting class, lacking only one wide receiver to make it a complete unit. All of the skill position players are four-star recruits by at least one service, and the Hokies capped it off with a big offensive line class in both the size of the players and number of recruits signed.

Oh No! The dreaded “catchable ball” like that qb named Ford I believe.

As good as this class of offensive linemen is, they are all freshman. The key to the offense next year is the signing of two or three quality offensive linemen from the portal to combine with the best they can retain from Tech's 2025 team. One or two of the freshman may make the two-deep rotation, but how many freshmen other than Darrisaw can you remember who were really ready to play as freshman? Moore played freshmen this year because he had to not because they were ready. But with Coach Franklin's recruiting ability combined with the resources he has, I have no doubt he will come through.

Lots to be excited about Chris! Kyron Drones transferred from Texas too (Baylor and high school in Pearland which is just south of Houston).

How about the receiver #10 for Huhn?? He makes some great catches, like some of Tech's former receivers.

Was going to say the same. Should have signed whoever number 10 is.

So did all of the OL sign not knowing who their coach would be? Doubt that.

Huhn's film was fun to watch.

We now seem be able to recruit offensive linemen the way the big boys do. You recruit a center to be a center, since the skillset is a bit different from the others. Then you recruit tall, long tackles. The ones that can move their feet best stay at tackle. The slower ones move inside to guard. If all of them can move well, then you have an outstanding line.

That was sophomore video on Troy Huhn?
Good grief what a find for Franklin!
Chris Coleman
It was his senior film.

Thanks Chris. Did I miss the connection for Huhn's to Franklin or this part of the country?
Chris Coleman
Don't think there's a connection. Franklin just recruited him because he thought he was good.
