   I hope J.C. Price stays on the staff. There is no more pure-bred Hokie than him. He's a darn good coach and keeping him in the fold keeps some of the best of the Hokie brand on the staff. Plus, I just like him a lot.

   This was a bad 3-9 team, it makes sense that only a handful of players have a guaranteed spot on this roster

   What about Jordan Bass? He looked like a 4-star athlete, if not a 4-star player yet. Feels like there's potential there at least, but I wouldn't overspend on him either. He's just a player that intrigues me.

   Brodie Adams, Emmett Laws are two right off. Possibly Joshua Clarke. Emmett was solid this year. Brodie and Joshua coming off injuries but looked really good leading into those injuries.

   I am very hopeful that Franklin spends some time reflecting on what went wrong with this year's Penn State team to determine whether there are holes in his current Penn State staff. Just because he's familiar and worked with them for a while doesn't mean there aren't better options to fix whatever was broken. Just saying. Out of curiosity, what is the hold up on making these coaching announcements? I would not expect that any Penn State staffers are dying to take their 6-6 team to a bowl game rather than getting started in Blacksburg. So, what are we waiting for?

      So the coaches can finish out the season with the players they worked with all year. Think of what a bad situation that would leave the players with if the coaches all ducked out before the bowl game. We want coaches who care about their players at the moment, not just thinking about their next gig.

   I thought Hagans spent the first year with Elliot's staff at uva, and then went to PSU immediately after year 1? If that's the case, the He's only been with Franklin for 3 right? Either way, I'd love to keep Mines, because now he's been in the 'Burg longer than he was in Charlottesville and is one of the most supportive coaches on the sidelines. Players on both sides of the ball seem to love him too, so I'd say that makes him more Hokie than hoo!

      Mines can recruit; however, not sure he can develop his WRs to get-open and catch. Maybe move him to TE coach. His contacts in the Greater Richmond area need to be retained via Franklin. Let Hagans staff at PSU or return to Hoo-ville.

   I’d keep 2 current coaches at the max. Have to flush the entire previous culture and that includes the coaches.

      Totally agree And I think he will. I think he has already communicated with the coaches that he wants to bring and the coaches that he wants to stay. Just need to wrap up the season first. I have faith that Franklin is working at the right pace and is making the right decisions regardless of impatient fans.

      would WE be satisfied with Shibest - if he were brought back? i felt the special team's players he recruited and the teams he put on Lane-Worsham Field were the best since CFB made special teams a weapon at VT and in college football.

         What games did you watch? Our special teams play was awful this year, just look at what happened at our last last with special teams penalties and mistakes.

            Ditto. The UVA game alone was enough to get him fired. ST were a train wreck. Hopefully, Shibest's office is already empty.

                  Stu Holt was ST coach this past year. This was perhaps our worst ST performance since the mid 80’s prior to Beamer being hired in 1987.

            You have the wrong guy. Stu Holt is the current VT special teams coach. James Shibest, currently at Purdue, is considered one of the best special teams coaches in the US. He coached under Fuente at VT.

    I have been a fan of PSU (I am from PA) for longer than I have been a Hokie. The PSU WRs have been the Achilles heel of the offense for several years now. I could live without Hagans as our WR coach. On the other hand, the PSU DL is dominant as can be. Way better than ours.

       leave hooHagans in state college. you are correct about their WRs and also their non-opportunistic passing game. i hope Coach Franklin can adopt a more aggressive and exciting passing strategy to complement his - and assuming he brings along the traditionally strong state-penn - running game. go Hokies!
