Megan Duffy and Virginia Tech have their first two true road tests this week. (Jon Fleming)
ORLANDO, Fla. — Happy post-Thanksgiving week — or in the basketball universe, post-Feast Week. I had the privilege of chronicling the four games Virginia Tech men’s and women’s basketball played last week in Fort Myers, and I stopped in Orlando on my trek back to Blacksburg.

Very informative responses to questions which helps, me understand where WB progress is and going. Unfortunately, you have similar thoughts on MB as I do. Appreciate your hard work and results.
always appreciate you

Great stuff. Thanks David.

I don’t buy the Jones injured, not in shape story. If injured, he would not have played at the end of a few games early in season. If out of shape, he could have filled in the other night for two minutes at the end of the half when Poteat and Wessler were in foul trouble but they went with Severn.

I think the point being made is he is working through an injury trying to get back into playing condition. The injured part of his body has slowed him, not him being out of shape.

With the women taking a last shot, I think one of the five has to be Carys Baker.

Gotta be Ekh. If you note over the time she’s been at Tech, she often makes the last second shot to end a quarter. End of game last year, of course, went to Kitley.
Ekh is money when it really counts.

I'm shocked David said Carleigh over Ekh. With the ball in her hands, I'd bet on a TO or missed layup over an assist or made FG. The other two PGs are quicker, better finishers, and better passers. The only reason I could see the ball in Carleigh's hands over them is experience though it's not much imo.

David, this is excellent content. As I have become more invested in VT WBB, I appreciate you devoting equal time and attending the games. There is much enthusiasm in the program, as you noted with the attendance numbers. The Rutgers game was a joy to watch. But I also understand it will be a challenging season.
