I’m writing an article covering both Stanford and Cal, who played conference games in California against Virginia Tech and Miami, respectively. In the words of Hawkeye, none of this makes sense. In that context, any officiating gaffes we’ve seen this year are actually a bit more understandable. Speaking of, let’s get to it, starting with a review of last week’s You Make the Call.
Here are some of the Subscriber comments:
On the AG PI or not, it looked like he had to reach for the ball with only one hand because the defender was grabbing the other one which to me would make it PI. He also could have dragged a toe or something to make the catch in bounds - Nicov48
I believe Ref would have called DPI if he been in better position and/or if pass had been slightly shorter. I think Ref thought pass was not catchable in-bounds, though it was very close. Also, VT receiver could have possibly sold the PI better & he should have pointed at the Miami defender & complained. - Hokieville
