I don't understand the negativity by many of our fans. You don't just roll out the ball and score TD's on every possession. I see improvement each week which is all that we can expect. Improvement comes incrementally. Hopefully, they will improve enough to beat Rutgers this week. Time will tell. Go Hokies!

I’m glad I’m not the only one that questioned the legality of the block the second I saw him jump the a gap I could of sworn that has been outlawed now
Nicov48
I was wondering that too watching the game. And it looked like they attempted it on like every field goal

Back on track might be a stretch. They just beat a bad football team.

Right - Ill start believing when the DL takes over against Rutgers
Steeltown Hokie
Exactly. A bad team that was in it at halftime.

We lost the last two times we played there....

Lane and Drones are like Tebow and Percy Harvin. Really like how Lane runs after catch.

Good analysis, Andy. After taking the first half off in the first two games, it was refreshing to see the Hokies play a good first quarter. Then they returned to form and took the second quarter off, before rebounding to play a strong second half. If this team is to win against far more capable upcoming opponents, it's going to take 60 minutes of concerted effort by players and coaches.

winning at home against Rutgers will be huge
tough team who killed us last year
Going 1-0 is OK with me. I could pick apart the win but losing Chaplin on the first series and plugging in Garrett bodes will for the young talent developing on the line. Long ways to go but feels better than not playing well when the LT goes down.

I just don’t see this team beating a physical football team right now. We will be 2-3 heading into Stanford
gaholder81
I know we'll be 2-3. But I'm making the cross country trip to cheer them on in person!

Jennings and Lane did not play against Rutgers last year, and it was Drones and Felton’s first college start.
Here’s to hoping our improvements since that game are apparent on Saturday. Go Hokies!

Thanks, Andy. The pull on the the Hoo OL receiver was sweet.

When I read it I immediately knew the play he was referring to, loved it. Also call me me crazy but when I see Lane play I think of an old Monday Night Football game between the Rams and 49ers. If you remember this you're old too. Rams were killing it in the first half, second half Montana throws mostly short passes and crossing patterns to Rice and Taylor (best receiving combo ever) who promptly outrun the defense for touchdowns and blow the game open. Am I saying Lane is Rice or Taylor, no. I'm saying Lane is dynamic, get him the ball.

We are what we are at this point. A .500 team. That trip to Stanford coming up will be huge. Hokies will be 2-3 (0-1) at that point so it will be pivotal to play well there in order to go to a bowl game.
Stork
2-1 is not .500.
gaholder81
I obviously meant we are an average football team. But then you knew that I'm sure.
Reston Hokie2
I did not know they are an average football team. Prey tell. What was it Forest Gump said "stupid is as stupid does".
What is frustrating is paying good money to be on this website. I keep telling myself don't read the comments, don't read the comments. But I can't help myself.
Arguing with you guys is akin to playing chess with a pigeon. At some point the pigeon will knock all the pieces off the board, shit on the board, then strut off as if you won.
You guys are in a big big minority. The vast vast majority of the Hokie fans support their team through thick and thin. Evidence from last year's sell out crowd at the Pitt game after a 1-3 start.

Grandpa told me "Son, don't argue with an idiot in public. Passer-byers can't tell who's who. Sage advice.

You had to drop one more memory of that audio & broadcast for us...

Impressive win but let us remember who we just beat
HokieAvalanche
Exactly. Point number 3 is not impressive given who we played. Let's see what the O-line does next week against Rutgers. The offense is not clicking. Takes a whole half to get the running game established and if the O- line happens to block well on passing downs our receivers can't get open!
Steeltown Hokie

Maroon Effect
Yup. “Saturday’s showing gives Hokies fans hope that Tech’s O-line might just be able to hang in those games.”
That’s something I need to see before having any hope.
