Not too much is happening right now with on-campus visits not being allowed for high school recruits at the present time, but it will start heating back up again in late May.

Why couldn’t they bring in Johnson and decide between LB and S depending on his growth. Pry might want to look at a hybrid LB that’s becoming a bigger deal with NFL teams.

Bring on Johnson. Period. It is a total no-brainer given the big picture. VT has done wonders in the past with defensive players that don't "fit the mold"

Is Johnson not at all a consideration for Safety?? No clue about his coverage, but he seems to have the physicality and closing speed. On the height... heck our starting Mike LB this season is barely 5'11, however he's built like a truck and probably took him years to get that size but still.
Also if this staff is going to move around/try out every stud prospect we have at 5 flippin different positions, why does it matter if he doesn't fit a template for a set position??

Why is it odd to see Virginia kids going to South Carolina? Pretty sure they have a head coach there that knows how to recruit and has a ton of relationships in Virginia...right? Also...SEC > ACC. Not sure I'm seeing the strangeness in that.

Some people have late growth spurts. I was 5'3" & 110lbs when I started high school & ended up a tad over 6' & weighed around 190. My mother wouldn't let me try out for football because I was to small.

The portal giveth and the portal taketh away. I no longer worry about traditional recruiting. Out of those Top 10 guys in VA, half will transfer at some point in their careers. We just need to do a good job of continuing to follow up once they make the initial decision, which we appear to be doing.

Player evaluation and fit is so much more important than a 247 ranking. Get the guys who you want and fit regardless of rankings. If we look at the guys in the league from VA you’d see a lot from out of the top 10
